## **Chesham United Youth Football Club - Trustees' Report for the Year Ending 30 June 2024**

## **Introduction:**

The trustees present their report and the financial statements for Chesham United Youth Football Club (the "Club") for the year ending 30 June 2024. The Club's primary objective is to provide opportunities for young people in the Chesham area to participate in organised football, promoting physical activity, teamwork, and personal development.

## **Objectives and Activities:**

During the reporting period, the Club continued to:

- Provide training and competitive football opportunities for boys and girls aged 4 to 18.

- Provide a welcoming place for U18s to transition into adult football through the Over 18s team.

- Organise and participate in local and regional leagues and tournaments.

- Develop and implement coaching programs to improve players' skills and fitness through the introduction of Football DNA, a digital coaching tool made available to all coaches, providing structured training sessions through videos and other supporting materials targeted around age specific curriculums.

- Promote fair play, sportsmanship, and respect among players, coaches, and parents.

- Maintain and improve the Club’s facilities and equipment.

- Organise our annual tournament as fundraising to support the Club's activities.

## **Achievements and Performance:**

A successful year off the field was backed up on the field as we celebrated the following achievements:

- U8 Panthers – Cup Final Winners

- U9s – Sporting Award Winners at R&T Football Tour away in Bournemouth

- U10 Warriors – League Final Winners

- U11 Blues – Holmer Green Tournament Winners

- U12 Generals - Chorleywood Common YFC Tournament Winners

- U17 Blues – Cup Doubles Winners (League and Referee’s Cups)

- The Club successfully hosted its annual one-day tournament at Chiltern Hills Academy, welcoming teams across the U7–U14 age groups. The event was well attended and provided an enjoyable day of football for players, coaches, and spectators.

In memory of our much-loved coach and Trustee, Ian Ellis, who’s contribution and dedication to the club was invaluable to our standing today, we have made a lifelong tribute whereby the I & E in UNITED on our kits will remain in red in honour of his legacy.

- Added to our football achievements above, on Monday, 27 May 2024, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak made an unplanned visit to The Meadow as part of his campaign trail, accompanied by members of the press. During his time at the club, he participated in a brief training session with players from the Chesham United Youth Football Club. The visit resulted in Chesham United being featured on BBC News and in various national and local publications. This was a One Chesham event, with Chesham United Football Club, the Ladies team, and Chesham United Youth Football Club all represented. While not a political engagement for the Club, the event provided a valuable opportunity to raise the profile of Chesham United within the wider community.

## **Financial Review:**

- The Club maintained a stable financial position throughout the year. Income was primarily generated from membership fees, our annual tournament, and sponsorships.

- Expenditure included coaching fees, pitch hire, equipment purchases, and league registration fees.
