## **R.C.C.G GOD'S HOUSE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE YEOVIL Reports and Financial Statements Year ended 31ST MARCH 2023 Trustees Report**

## **Statement from the Chairperson**

We are very happy to present our second report as a Registered charity . Gods House International Centre Yeovil was planted in 2015 but we ran as a branch to our mother Church in Bristol until we were eventually strong enough to stand on our Our own as an independent Charity in April 2021.

Yeovil is a small growing Town , which attracts a significant number of people from other parts of the country and beyond to work in the District Hospital as well as Leonardo which are main biggest employers for the local community. So as a church like ours we receive a number of new people looking for where to worship and feel at home.

We have lately had an increase in numbers of both adults and children to a ratio of approximately 6:4. Our total numbers now range between 85 to 95 people consistently. It is very promising to see especially such numbers for the youngsters in church in Yeovil. As we see the next generation of members and leaders years to come.

Given our strategic location, the church has managed to connect well with the local community including our Mayors year after year. We have annual Christmas Carols events to which we invite them. We also support their preferred charity for every particular year. We also donate to at least one of the local care homes where our members work and this was true this year too.

As a growing church, we have a number of young energetic and dynamic men who have formed a football team which from time to time plays matches with the local teams from other churches and community at large. This allows us to easily integrate, learn and work with our surrounding community. This year for instance, we organised a football tournament involving other churches football Teams. Which was very impactful to the members as well as the community.

Among other events for the year was a women get together Dinner entitled Hatts & Heels which attracted many women both from within and the surrounding cities. Our former Mayor too was one of our main guests for the event.

We also had a Men's Breakfast which brought men together as a platform to empower and strengthen our men in their role as fathers , husbands and leader s encouraging strong and stable families.

On the 2nd September, we had a church picnic in the local community park in Yeovil which attracted church members, families, friends and the surrounding community. It was so much fun as it involved activities like Tug of War, races both for kids and adults, there was food for all as well as a moment for fellowship with one another in an open relaxed environment within the community.

Our church also has members who are trained volunteers for street pastoring around the streets in Yeovil Town at night. So time to time reach out to serve the community.

Equally, we have quarterly outreach/ Evangelism outreaches to our local Town as a platform to connect, serve and impact our community.

## **R.C.C.G GOD'S HOUSE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE YEOVIL Reports and Financial Statements Year ended 31ST MARCH 2023 Trustees report continued..**

As a result of the above activities/ events among others, we are seeing a steady growth in our membership for which we are glad. And are glad to be part of the growth and development of the Christian church in Yeovil. Because of our increasing numbers, we are now looking for a relatively bigger venue for our regular church meetings. Any advice in this direction will be very appreciated.

Finally, on behalf of the chairperson, I would like to appreciate all the trustees and volunteers for the continued and tireless sacrifice you make to make sure the charity, s services are credible and in keeping with the strategic goals as started in the Bible, Trust deed and church Vision.

We are looking forward with excitement to more growth and impact in our Town in 2024.

## **RESPONSIBILITIES AND BASIS OF PREPARATION OF THE REPORT**

The trustees, who are also the management committee of the charity, are responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and accountable for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

Signed on behalf of the trustees

## **Independent Examiner's report to the Trustees**

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the above period.

## **Responsibilities and basis of report:**

As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.

## **Independent examiner's statement:**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
