## **Young Emerging Leaders**

**Transforming nations… one millennial at a time**

**Annual Report 2021**

The theme for our year was _**Engage**_ . This theme embraced the idea that as we emerge from the ravages of covid lockdowns and the world readjusts to the new realities, the Young Emerging Leaders was ready to launch out, step out, re-align, recalibrate and recommit to pursuing and fulfilling our mandate of transforming the leadership potential of millennials through Christ-centred high-quality leadership training, and through them, positively impact the nations.

Whilst the year was not without its challenges as we slowly navigated the reopening of society at large, we recorded some very important successes in our journey as an organisation.

During the year, we held over 30 high-impact events including seminars with renowned thought leaders in their industry. These included speakers such as Dr David Landrum, Dr Adeyinka Adewale, Rev. Roy Crowne, Apostle Israel Isiavwe and our founder, Rev Celia Apeagyei-Collins.

We explored various dimensions of personal leadership, entrepreneurship, career development and spiritual transformation. Some of the thoughtprovoking subjects we explored included the following:

- The Leadership Spirit of Stewarding the Future

- Daniel: Influence & Leadership

- Treasures in the Marketplace

- Kingdom Entrepreneurship

- Leadership Strength & Fortitude

Cumulatively, we served over 500 people through our various events both within the UK and internationally.

Our commitment to the spiritual empowerment of our members continues unabated, reinforced by our weekly prayer meetings and relevant teaching sessions.

We also successfully achieved our goal of becoming a registered charity in June, thus expanding our eligibility to pursue opportunities for partnership and funding with a broader range of organisations.

We moved into new administrative offices in Hangar Lane, West London in September, which also provided us with much needed meeting space for our events.

We continued to expand our membership of the organisation and strengthen our administrative framework with the recruitment of a parttime administrative staff to support our operations.

YEL UK actively collaborated with our YEL Family in Ghana, supporting in the logistics of their virtual events.

As part of our commitment to helping the marginalised and underprivileged, we contributed funds towards distribution of Christmas food packages to the poor families in a village in Ghana. We also supported the development of a health clinic to help facilitate the wellbeing of the local community.

We have continued the leadership mentoring both through sessions with Rev. Celia and peer-to-peer mentoring and our members continue to reflect the personal growth benefits in their career and professional development through securing new jobs and promotions and growing their businesses.

Our finances are stable and we would like to significantly improve on this through exploring funding partnerships and revenue generating activities.

We are grateful to all our members, partners, donors, event speakers, wellwishers and other stakeholders for your continued support and we look forward to an even more fruitful 2022.
