Village societies have continued to supwt us with using ts h￿18 and th8r8 have also been many pnvat8 bookiros. During the Gourse of th8 last year the Committee has rernain&l rather stab18 With onty two resignations Golin Wc￿g￿ who has mov￿1 away from the village and Audrey Faux who after many many years decided to stand down. both go with our be wishes and thanks for all that they have done for the committ88 over the past years. The committe8 has CaTi8d out sc#ne fwlhw genwal updating of hall facilities during the year including:. Installing a dedicated microphon8 for the audio loop in Main hall. Purchas8d blu8 tooth microphone lor use in and around th8 hall. It is planned to upgrade th8 Wffi to allow better access. David Harmer continu8s wrth his duties as caretaker and hé and our cl8aniTrJ team ol Sarah Williamson and Amy Brockman all do a great job in keqing the halls in excellent condltlon. We also thank the Woodchurch in Blcrfjm wnbers for thwr work on the grounds which r￿alve such posltive comm8nts from our Hlrers. As usual we continue to seek more bookings and Mary's excellent work on both th8 Hallmaste booking system and our webste seerTL8 to be hdping this process. As required by law the annual PAT teStirYJ of 240 vrAt electrical devices has been complet&1. The annual check of the functionaltty of the effwgency exits S￿n8 id8ntrfied that 3 of the main hall signs failed to light when th8 rrAsns suppty was lost, these w8 plann￿1 to be replac&a in Aprll. The prccwss of transforming the hall rnanage￿t structure to the new CIO is all complete with the exception of th8 transfer of the actual hall prop8rty. Wade Nash (Chairman of th8 M8morial Hall Truste8sI is dealing this and th8 indications from the charity commisslon Is that this Fyocess will be completed in tho noar fulure. We learnt that Ihe Bcxough Council rw) longer coll￿1 wae ts'ns from none dome5ti¢ propwties so we now have an agr8err￿t with a contractor to supply a large general waste collection bin lor the halls. The Treasurer learnt that the supplrer of 'heating cards, was no l(xw able to providè that service. The commlttee researchgj the mark8t and found that thwe wwe no Cost effective alternatives available. Th8 solutlon that was agregj was to increase th8 h*1 hire rates such that it ¢ov8red th8 heating costs. The w¢yk to r8rrthe the existing rrters and iryI￿nt the hall hire adjustment will be cornpleted by th8 end of May. The commlttee has actively started to stage events to r￿se nKye funds including quiz nights and the Saturday coffe8 mcfflings. more such events are planned for the rest of 2025 Funds and Reserves remain stable a8 Icry as 8xp8nditur8 r8mains low.
