Croxteth Park Volunteer Group AGM 27[th] August 2022

Chairs Update

Croxteth Hall and Country Park – LCC - Relationship

The hall management now split across 3 people

Parks - for anything to do with the park (fallen trees etc) Christina Williams Christina.Williams@liverpool.gov.uk

Interim Project Manager for Hall (access to the Hall, events, liaison with film crews etc)- Tracy Hewlett - Tracy.Hewlett@liverpool.gov.uk

Corporate Landlord ( repair and maintenance for Hall) Tommy Hughes Tommy.Hughes@liverpool.gov.uk

We continue to enjoy a good relationship with Hall Management/LCC and have monthly meetings.

Consultation into the future of the park runs to 12th September - vital to get in opinions as this may shape the future management of the park. CPVG are acting in the role of trusted/critical friend and continue to input into the consultation

Partnership with Mersey Rivers Trust - BioBlitz event went extremely well, another one possibly in Autumn. They are currently bidding for some funds to maintain the Wetland - originally sent Management Plan to Jacqui but this has never been picked up so they want us to work with them to look after the area. To be discussed with new Hall/Park management.

Volunteer sessions - These have been ongoing and have been (mainly) able to facilitate a group of between 6- 9 which is ideal number for managing the group and tools etc.

Schools Liaison – We continue to work closely with local schools around engagement and education for nature based activities, the majority of our grant funding is allocated to support this work and we recently presented two local schools (St Pauls and Blackmoor) with hampers of wildlife recording equipment and educational resources.

Treasurer Update

Financial Report and Accounts as presented by Treasurer (LC) and detailed the key issues regarding the current bank account with Barclays, which have been ongoing since we changed status to C.I.O. The sorry saga related a series of lengthy often drawn-out communications with the bank, none of which resulted in resolution. We appear to have reached a stalemate. LC. SK and CB are to continue the battle!

The most recent correspondence from the Banking Ombudsman gave little reassurance as this group have no remit in what type of accounts any bank offers. At this present time most banks have ceased offering charitable accounts.

Regarding the formation of a Bank Reserve Fund so ongoing yearly expenditures, such as insurance premiums could guaranteed is still under discussion. (Refer to 2022, AGM)
