Trustees’ Annual Report

For the Year Ending 31/03/2022

Herts Inclusive Sports Initiative (HISI) charity purposes are to:

Provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason on their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.

Promote community participation in healthy recreation.

Relieve the needs of those living with a learning, physical or sensory disability, emotional behaviour or mental health by providing access to local programmes and groups within their local community.

Promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society.

The Trustees’ received a donation from Herts Sports Partnership of £5000 to support the charity purposes. The donation has been used to award grants and bursaries to three disability sports clubs and five individuals who take part in disability sport in Hertfordshire. The conditions attached to the awards specify that the club or individual provides evidence of the spend through a report and photographs, which have consent, which are then used by HISI to promote the charity on their website under ‘Success Stories’.

The long-term vision of HISI is to run regular events in the local community in order to raise funds i.e. quiz nights, race nights etc. The funds raised will then be distributed to sports clubs, groups and individuals in Hertfordshire and Essex which they will use to provide people with a disability opportunities to develop their social and independence skills, enjoy the sports and activities they enjoy, participate in regular training and competition and improve their knowledge and skills.

The Trustees’ will work with partners to raise funds and use social media and the website to create more awareness of the charity’s objectives. The second year of the charity has been a successful year and moving into 2023-2024 the Trustee’s aim to raise awareness, funds and distribute more awards to support people with a disability in the local community.
