**Objects:** THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO ADVANCE EDUCATION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN HORTICULTURE AND BOTANY, TO ENHANCE THE APPRECIATION OF PLANTS, NATURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND RESEARCH AND TO USE THE ASSETS OF THE CHARITY FOR SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES OR SUCH CHARITABLE ORGANISATIONS OR INSTITUTIONS AS THE CHARITY TRUSTEES SHALL IN THEIR ABSOLUTE AND UNCONTROLLED DISCRETION DETERMINE.

**Activities:** Provides lectures and advice on all aspects of gardening; owns, maintains and cultivates a 11 ha botanic garden/arboretum open to the public 364 days of the year; carries out tests and trials on trees, shrubs and plants; organises trips to gardens for members.
