**Pandemic Community Bandstand CIO** Charity Number 1194786 ## **Report of the Trustees for the year ending 31[st] December 2023** The Trustees of the Pandemic Community Bandstand are pleased to present their annual report and accounts for the year ending 31[st] December 2023 ## **Purpose of the Charity** The purpose of the charity is to build and maintain a permanent outdoor venue (a Bandstand) in Meadowbank Park, Dorking, Surrey, for the benefit of the local community and as a Commemoration of the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The charity will organise, promote and run a series of free, Sunday afternoon bandstand concerts throughout the summer season, to be known a “Music in Meadowbank”. The bandstand will also be available for other musical and performance events, subject to constraints required by the local council (Mole Valley District Council). ## **Progress during the year** Activities of the Charity during 2023 were largely focussed on developing and submitting a large funding application to YourFund Surrey, the main funding body of Surrey County Council. Following a funding commitment by Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) through their Neighbourhood Fund, the Charity has negotiated and agreed a Heads of Terms agreement with MVDC over the future operation, management and maintenance of the Bandstand. The overall project was presented to the council Cabinet on 7[th] February 2023, and received cabinet approval. New, detailed costings were obtained for the bandstand and its installation on site, co-ordinated by a newly appointed volunteer building project manager. Fund and awareness-raising activities continued through the year, although efforts were limited while we awaited the outcome of the main YourFund Surrey application. ## **Finances** The attached Accounts show Receipts of £5,346 during the year, mainly in the form of loans from the Charity Trustees, although a small amount of direct fund raising was banked. Expenditures of £4,184 were related mainly to survey and cost estimation consultancy, with small amounts of website, publicity and bank charges.
