It was another fantastlc season fcr the Club's 1st ￿. llnlshl￿ second In the Essex Premler League behlnd a very strong
Hornchurch 51de. The youn8 slde has now really estsbli5hed itself as one ot ihe teams to beat In the league. Wlns
a8alnst lea8ue ￿Thners H¢*nchur¢h and Chelmsford were tre hfehfi8htsof the season.
Credlt rnust 80 to the team's dd timers Darren E£￿0rd, Ben Stephens, Joe Austin and Wikas ￿arWal who wovlded
superb experience and composure In some really tl8ht game5. At the other end of the spectrum. it was promisin6 to
see yet more youngsters break thrcugh into the 1st Xl and achieve success. Notable eXaM￿e5 of this irKlude Jacob
0￿w, Daniel Gladwell andjonty Ray.
The team Is bullt upon a tore group of players who have really established themsefves at Premier League level 0￿r
the last four years. Joe MacGregor continued his Prolific run scorin& winning mèny games for the team. Slmon
Fernandes once again proved hlmsejl as the best wicketkeeper batsman in the league. while Guy Haines built on I
fantastic season last yearto leave himself as one of the lea8ue.stop ruft scorers.
We should celebrate the successes of our young F4ayer5 who have been picked for higher henours. Oanlel Gladwel
artd Jonty Ray were both selected to play at 8unbury as well as becornin8 Part of the E&sex Academy. while Jacob
Drew has broken th￿Q￿h In¢0 Wan￿ck$hIre's Academy. &mon Fernandes and Joe MacGregor achleved slgnlficant
success at eouThty 2nd Xl level. Mac Jones played lor Scoland 1119$ at the Cricket Worfd Cup - an achlevement of
whl¢h he should be Immense￿ proud. CharlleAlllson represented England at the sarne tournament whlle also maklng
hls debut for Essex tst Xl last season, a s￿r¢e of huge pride for all who have seen him grow Into the fantastlc
crKketer he 15. All these players deserve congratulatlons fo¥ theli haid ￿rk and dedIcatI￿.
Huge walse mustgo to Adl Ashok, perhaps one of the best overseas player5 Cdths*r has had. His enormous suttess
on the pitch was only beaten by his impact around the club. Hi5 legacy as a Colche5ter player is a speclal one. We wlsh
him every5uccessforthe futwe.

80 one better In 2024. They wll be wlthout some familiar frdte5 that will be sorely mlssed such as Daniel Thacker and
Ben Stephen4 but it is a 8reai opportunityfor the young players who are comirÉ throu¢h to get more experience and

There were several great perfornia￿e$ all season from a ran8e of players but a spedal mention goes to Lhrf Gravatt
who was top of the bowllng and battin8 In the Sumlay Essex Women's Premler League, where we flnlshed second to
Blllericay. Four tearns were in the runnin8 for the title thrvjghout m05t of the 5ea50n but a late104 to Harold Wood
thwarted ￿tle dIar￿e$. Beth Dodd led the stats with 442 runs and 12wlckets auoss the season.
In the EWPL Ica) Compe￿tal￿ we flnlshed fowth.
2nd Xl Season Rev]evr.
Thls year was a dlsappointina season f¢r the 2nd Xl- the Club only managed two wtns and were rde8ated. The lack of
awdilabllity and experience land also the shortage playln8 member51 were the maln factors contributin8 to the
team's downfall. Avai13bility has continued to be a woblem. and creates a lack of consistency in sldes resulting in the
loss or inobility to create momentum. Although it pr￿[deS opportunltles for younger ￿tyers In ¢ertaln clrcumstance5,
It also results ITh intonslstency In thelr development. and we sometlmes struggle to offer them regular crfcket. The
fL¥mat¢on of a 3rd Xl in 2024 should briw muth ￿eded stablllty.
