The main activity of the CIO is its annual conference. This brings together over 150 participants drawn from a deliberately wide range of politicians, officials, academics, journalists, leaders in community and cultural organisations and influential business people who will disseminate within their contact groups insights and lessons gained from the conference. The CIO also holds a colloquium each year for a focused group of policy makers and officials. |

It is our responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43(7)(b) of the Act, whether particular malters have come to our attention. Basis of independeDt examiner's report Our exarnination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examinalion includes a review of th¢ accounling records kept by the charity and a comparison of ihc accounts presenied with those records. Il also includes consideraiion of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from you as trustees concemins any such matters.
