Charity Commission Trustees Annual Report
During this period the club played few games as a result of Covid 19 pandemic. Our season usually begins in April but a delayed start and restrictions of meeting meant that fewer games were played.
Under the guidance of Bowls England and Northumberland County Council we were able to ensure safety and hygiene around the green and within our club house. Some clubs were unwilling or unable to field players due to concerns over the virus which was understandable given the average age of some of the clubs.
We are a relatively young club in terms of members ages so felt more able to field teams where possible.
Away from the green we were able to concentrate on the running of the club and since being given Charity status we were able to extend our Trustee base to 5 members including one lady member from February 2022. WE also looked at the organisation of teams and appointed various team captains in the various leagues we play in.
Work progresses on applying for grants to supplement the work carried out on the green by Northumberland County Council. Our aim is to purchase and maintain our own mower which can cost up to £12000.
