Achievements and Performanee
l. In our view. the band has met all objeciives and in many respects we have acliieved perlonniince
well in excess of those objectives.
2. Our view is evidenced by.,
a. Many concerts diirinL the reporting year, both tlie Silver Band, Trainingi Band and joint
bands, with a total audience estlmated to be in excess of Several thousand.
b. Two bands Iroiii CSB allended Ihc Wcsl of Enb?land RLgiional Contcsl iii MarLI), and IIIL
Silver Band att¢nded the local Wychavon Festival of Brass Contest in October.
c. The Silver Band rel)earses twice a w¢¢k ihroughout ihe year.
d. We ¢onfirn]ed our commitmenl to providing learner luition. boih in g)roups and as
individuals, tlvougli ihc establishment of a weekly Learner Band rehearsal on Monday
evenin&y. roiilincly attended by a dozen or more members.
e. People of all ages joining the band to learn to play. we have n¢w memb¢rs still at Primary
school and others who are of rclirement agc.
f. Training b41nd reh¢arse each Friday evening where possible- often with up to 30 players in a
licarsal.

Structure, Goveruance and Management
l. ChelierttRm Silver Band adopted a constitution that tneets all th¢ guidelines given by the Charities
Commission when it registered as a Charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) on 3, June 2021.

3. In addilion. we appoint a Musical Director for each Band. who is responsible for conducting
rehearsals, the selection of mLiSiC and the band". s conccrt and conlLst perlormances.
4. Chellenham Silver Band is chairL'd by one manag¥emenl committee, made up of Silver Band and
Training Band members. 'fhe commiltee is responsible for the day to day ru￿]ing of all activities,

2. A ring-fenced grant of £50.000 from the Clwl¢s Irving 'frust was received by Cheltenham
Silver Bcind, Charity No 1163618, during) Ihe finanLial year cnding 24 March 2020 tu luiid
long-tenn rehearsal venue for the band. This was transferred lo Cheltenham Silver Band,
Chariiy Number 1194662 during) the financial year elided 24 March 2024. As of yet our search
tor a venue has not been fruittul alld the complete £50,000 remains ring-fenced.
3. A further grant of £4,000 was received by Cheltenham Silver Band, Charity No 1163618, in the
period eiidin&) 24 March ?019 froin tlic Ch1( rles Irvinb "I rusl iii supporl of Ilie annual Musical
Showcase- now renamed "The Sir Charles Irving Musical Showcase" The remaining funds
vere Iransferrcd lo Chelienhani Silver Band, Charity Nuniber 1194662 during Ihe fin(Incial yLar
ended 24 Mar¢li 2024. These funds are ring-fenced for the sole purpose of running7 lh¢
Showcase: inLliidingi awards: room hire. rclrLshiiients and any oiliLr Lxpenscs solely allribulable
to the Showcase. We expect this grant lo be sufficient to Tun the Showcase for l O years or more.
We did not incur any exp¢nses tor a showcase this year.

Assets retained for the cliarity's nwn LISC are the instruments, music and unif0rn15 owned
by the band. Replacenient costs are identified in our insurance policy as c£94,000, whtch
is ihe estimated cost of replacement. although sale costs would be I0￿r as the inusic and
unifornis have a ncgligibl¢ resale value. Consequently no value is placed on tbese assets
in the Statement of Assets and Liabilities. A full list of band ommed inslTuments is set out
below. All assets ar¢ securely slored when not in use.
