choir for children aged 5-11 years in inner-
city Cardiff. Advancing musical education

arts. This is achieved through a free and
subsidised places scheme.
2. Little Concerts – Family Concerts with
particular focus on the 0-5 years age group
and their families to develop public
education and appreciation of music.
3. Industry focussed training for emerging
professional musicians in working with
music and young children.

Children’s Choir) has benefitted 39 local
children and their families:

10 began with a free term of
sessions.

9 participate on the Subsidised
places scheme.

Their musical development is exceptional
and with it, joy and inspiration, community
cohesion, and wellbeing benefits for
children and their families.
The Little Concerts programme has
delivered 11 performances in this reporting
period. 695 people have developed their
appreciation of music through these
inspirational experiences. Of these:

214 aged between 0-5

199 aged between 6-13

20 emerging professional musicians
aged between 18-25 have received
industry facing training along with
paid employment.

Para 1.21 The charity ended its second year of
operations with a cash balance of £6,976,
of which £6,174 are restricted funds for
ongoing projects. Total receipts for the year
were £14,617 and total payments were
£8,790.

The trustees regularly review the financial

basis and the charity’s fixed cost base is
currently minimal.
