It soon became apparent Ihal this met with the approval of many thousands of peoplg from a¢fos$ Ihe world. who over the years had been affected by her unsb'nting work with tharitable organisations not only with memr5 ol tho am¢d lorc85. but hor work with disabled chiltlren. To Ihls end 11 soon became apparent that Dame Vera woukl r1 disappear inlo night, become forgotten. but through her work and her songs she would INe on. On the annlversary ol hor passlng ¢)n 20 Juno 2021. we laun¢h8d Ihe appeal at Dover, for the memorl81. To further ¢¢lebfatg Ihe life of Dame Vera. we had the ThanksgNing servicg al Westminster Abbey whlch was tremendous success. Through this wonderful evenl, we have rthi acquired var*Jus ambassadors for appoal. The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by Ihe Charity Commisslon in deciding what activities the charily should und•rtake. Achi•v•m•nts •nd porform•nc• The Memorial has now very much taken shape thanks lo the great work of our rerthmed sculptor Paul Day, photo8 an(1 d&¢ails of the image and progr•s$ion of the work can be viewed on the Mamorial website. The next slw required is bronzing ol the Memorial for which fundraising will be rèquired. Trustees are sts'll in the process ol wvtewing and considering several sites for Ihe pemanenl base for the Memorial, wtr hope lo confirm the decision and sile anS soon. FLsndraising has very much continued. to that aim wè hèld a worKJerful dinner event at The Connaught Rooms in London and special thanks go lo katie Ashby and the D Day Dadings who helped raise funds during Iheir UK concert tour. The Fund Committee Mnlinue lo be grateful to all thos8 individuals, ¢yg¥nisations and groups who do C0nknnL to support. Financlal revl•w Fund raising during the year raised £38.791. Expenditure 8ccounl8d to £271.734 including £250,000 paid lo our Scultu for ongoing work. As a result of this. Fund balare5 have reduced from £231,815 to £1,003. 11 is the policy of the Charity lo conlinue lo raise funds sUffiCl to cornpte the Memorial Statue and the 8r&cllon and maintenan¢e thereof. The Iruslees have assessed the major risks to which the charity Is exwsed, and are satisfi8d that systems are In place to mitigate exw)sure to Ihe mapr risks.
