Waterfall Country Cymru CIO Annual Return The CIO had an income of £3550 during the year with an expenditure of £217.21 We have made some progress networking with Swansea University who have suggested that we might have the opportunity to use final year business students to work on local projects.This would be a really good opportunity to get some new perspectives. The University are also happy to advertise any volunteer roles we have available Once we're in a position to employ staff there will also be the potential to take on a student on a work placement (fully funded). A Whats App group was also created to provide a quick and convenient way to keep in touch and make last minute arrangements In regards to volunteering we have started building those connections with the local communities too after a period of isolation caused by the pandemic where opportunities were limited. We have however been able to build relationships with the Beavers and Cubs groups in the immediate area and they enjoyed the activities we were able to facilitate Our first nature recovery activity was very well received. We planted 636 plug plants over the course of the afternoon and evening. We've also been in touch with Plantlife who are really interested in creating/enhancing meadows across the whole area and their project officer is looking for suggestions of sites across the whole of Waterfall Country where we can create meadows - these don't have to be vast areas but little pockets of biodiversity. We had a number of plans for fundraising activity and although planned for early September they had to be put back due to illness and circumstances beyond our control these were re scheduled **----- Start of picture text -----**
