|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to the<br>circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a whole.|Para 1.20|£6,990 was granted to WE REACH in<br>Kakamega, Kenya, to fund its Water Sanitation<br>and Hygiene (WASH) programme in junior<br>schools in Lurambi Sub- County.<br>The programme included sensitising the Head<br>Teachers and Boards of Management regarding<br>their rights and obligations regarding WASH<br>policies and guidelines set out by the Kenya<br>Government. It also encouraged the schools to<br>set up health clubs to teach the students about<br>WASH, in particular cleanliness and hygiene.<br>Reduction in waterborne diseases has been<br>dramatic amongst the student as has been the<br>reduction in absenteeism.|
