The Charity was registered on 25 May 2021
after which the trustees applied to Lloyds Bank
to open a bank account. Due to failures by the
bank this was not opened for use until the end
of November preventing any fundraising
activity. The failure was acknowledged by the
bank who paid £300 compensation to WE
REACH UK.
The trustees were able to raise a grant of
£2,500 from a local Rotary Club and a few small
individual donations but this fell short of the
target of £12,000

Kakamega, Kenya, to fund its Water
Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
programme in junior schools in Lurambi
Sub- County.
The programme included sensitising the
Head Teachers and Boards of
Management regarding their rights and
obligations regarding WASH policies and
guidelines set out by the Kanya
Government. It also encouraged the
schools to set up health clubs to teach the
students about WASH, in particular
cleanliness and hygiene.
Reduction in waterborne diseases has
been dramatic amongst the student as has
been the reduction in absenteeism
