The Trnstees set stritt standards to ensure that each transaction is screened against all the Financial Sanction lists, including OFSI and OFAC. A proccdurc is in placc to monitor that grants arc bcing deploy¢d for the purpo8¢ int¢nd¢d. For the rnaintenance of adequate cashflow5 that are required to rneet the overall running of the Charity, the Trustees ensurc that a minimum reserve is retained at all times prior to considering any grani application (see Reserves Policy below). STRUCTURE, GOVERNAf4CE & MAIYAGEMENT The govemance responsibilities of IHN UK are overseen by Trustees having extensive and diverse exposure, on a pro bono basis. They include specialists from the medical field, Iinance. markeiing and Ihose with community knowledge. The Trustees develop strategies and provide guidance to steer the Charity towards achieving ilb laid- down goals and objcctives within thc Rcgulatory framcwork. The Charity's Constitution, backed by a number of internal poliLies sets. the framework to oversee the raisin¥ of awareness of IHHN5 initiatives, collection of donation5 and its deployment. An annual bud&Fet IS Set based on the previous year's perfomiance wilh close attention being placed on cosi-to-income ratios. The Trusiees hold regular meetings during the year io monitor performance. When required, policies are discussed and updated, requests for grants are reviewed for approval and new initiatives discussed prior to them being launched. The management of the Chaiity is entrusted to a full-lime consultant whts is suppoiied by an assistant consultant. Their prinLiPdl ilLtivity Is ¥iounded towards building awareness amoii¥s1 the targeted donors of the WOTk5 being undertaken by IHHN. This requires the development of variou5 channels to communicate with the donor communiiy including,. engaging volunieers for the fom)ation of chapiers around ihc UK, live appLals on radiorrv, health shows on specific TV channels, live talks via Zoom or other virtual means. In addition to building awareness, the consultants are responsible to maintain donor records in a manner that provides adequate proleLlion tu meet GDPR biuidelines and enablingF the subrni55ion of peTiodic ¥ift ld Llaim5. Visits by scnior doctors from IHHN have provcn highly eff¢ctivc as it provides first hand ¢xp¢ricn¢c8 that can b¢ ¢onv¢y¢d across to pro%p¢ctivc donors. The resultant achievements underscores a rnuch higher degree of potential that exists in the UK to assist in this very noble cause. Income and Utilizatio Throu¥yh the concerted effort5 of the team. donation5 raised was much better than expected even thoubFh the overall donations raised totalling £1.988,848 was approx. I l /0 lower than the previous year {2023.. £2.242,618). In an cnvironmcnt whcre substantial sums from our donors werc divertcd towards providing rclicf for Gaza victims with other charities. this drop is considered quite satisfactory by the Trustees. Amongst the various categories of donaiions, there was a 25 /D increase in the General Donaiions and a marginal increase of 2 /0 in the Zakai caiegory. The key reduction can be attributed to having nil donations in the category ol. Khums which was a one-olyduring 20231£263,6031. The impact of ihc overall reduction in donaiions is reflected in reduced funds in the Resiricted as well as Unrestricted catebTOry. It is pertinent 10 mention that Gill Aid claims have not been made during the year but a substantial sum is expected to be Llaimed that would adequately meet or exceed the previous yeur's Incoine. Grants A total of 10 grants were approved totalling £496,406 (breakdown by category given below). All grants were primarily for the procurement of equipment and services for the benefit of IHHN for health tare and skill developtnent well as for the hospi[ expansion projects. of IHHN at Karachi and LahoTe. Public health awareness drives, including smoking cessation and blood donation campaigns in collaboration with the NHS. Through thes¢ activiii¢%, IHN UK aims to build stronger community link%, incrca8e awarcncqs of pr¢vcntivc healihcare, and continue raising viral funds io provide free, quality healiheare to ihe underserved populations of Pakistan. RESERVES POLICY The Reserve Policy of IHN UK requires that suffjcient reserves are to be kept that can adequately meet the cash outflow requirement for the next 12 months.
