Appointment of new trustees followng local advertisement and search. In

administration of the Youth Trust.

The Bishop's Waltham Youth Trust was established as a Charitsble
Incorpordted Organisation in May 2021 and combined the functions of Ihe
Bishop's Waltham Youth Hall charity (charity no. 301746) and Bishop's
Waltham Youth Club (a voluntary organisation).
The Youth Trust assumed responsibility for Bishop's Wallham Youth Club
on 1 August 2021. The assets of the Youth Hall tharity were vested and
transferred to the Youth Trust on 9 March 2022 and the Youth Hall charity
has been dissolved.

The object of Bishop's Waltham Youth Trust is
the promotitm of the social moral and physical wellbeing of the young
people and r8sid6nts in the parish of Bishop's Waltham and the
su￿DundIng district by the pn)w&on of facilities for recreation and
personal and social development and to such other charitable pU￿OSeS
ft)r their benefft as shall from time to time be agreed upon.

The Trust's main activities have been concemed with providing a hall and
other facilities for the Bishop's Waltham Youth Club, which meets weekly
during teThn time.
Hawng regard to the Charity Commission's guidance, public benefit is
delivered by providing facilities for educatson, training and recreation for
young people in Bishop's Waltham and the sumunding district.

during the year
Achievements and performance
The Youth Club has operated Su￿ssfUllY during 2025, although
from a temporary location during the building of a new youth hall
facility-
In August 2024 the Trustees sold the existing Youth Hall and its
surrounding land to a developer. The Trustees received £514,000
in 2024 but are contracted to lease a new youlh hall that is being
constructed by the developer. The price of the lease will be for the
same amount {£514,000) in 2026 and the lease will be for 999
years at a peppercom rent. Completion of the new hall
constructs'on and uptske of the lease is anticipated by August
2026; wth formal re-opening of the Youth Club at the naw
pern￿nent site in September 2026.
Followng dosure in September 2024 and throughout 2025 the
Youth Club has continued to operate Su￿ssfUllY from a nearby
community hall in Waltham Chase and utilising a community
minibus to provide transport. With the new temporary location an
additional demographic of young people from the neighbouring
villages have also attended meetings. and with the new school
year membership has grown by over 50°A in 2025. As well as
weekly on-site meetings the Youth Club also organised external
adivities and took part in community events {KidsTreat and the
annual Christmas Fayrel. trips to the theatre and pantomime and
visits to sport facilibes such as mini gotf.
Staffing and supervision of activities have been maintained
consistently throughout the period with paid and volunteer
employees. The Youth Leader activty and safeguarding
responsibilty was undertaken directly by a designated Trustee
during exlended matemity leave of the normal Youth Leader. A
new pemianent Youth Leader and a Junior Youth Worf(er have
been employed as of Deomber 2025 in addition to the existing
team. Both are being finan￿alty supported by the BW Youth Trust
to undertake certified training. The safeguarding responsibility lies
with the new Youth Leader and reporting direcdy to a designated
Trustee. All staff and trustees meet DBS requirements.
Completion and relwation to the new hall is anticipated as mid-
2026. The primary purpose of the facilities will remain the youth
club weekly meetings providing support and guidance. education
and personal development of young people through skills leaming
and building Setf-Confiden￿. Full utilisation and funding for the
facilities and youth activities wll also be achieved by supporting
other communty-based organisations through the regular hall hire
of the new optimised hall and meeting spaces.
Income from hall hire. which historically has substantially funded
the core actrvities of the youth club. has nol been possible in the
year due to the redevelopment and closure of the hall. As a result,
the Youth Club made a deficit of just over £7,000 in 2025.
Following the sale of the Youth Hall the Trustees have placed the
sale proceeds on deposit wth Lloyds and Bardays and CCLA. to
generate some income without placing the capital at risk.

Brief statement of the chaety's
pollcy on reserves
The Trusl's policy is to hold sufficient free unrestricted reserves to fund
youth dub acts'vitses for one year. After a transfer of £12,000 from
designated reserves net unrestncted funds at 31 December 2025 were
£15,989. sufficient lo fund the Youth Club for the next 12 months. This
comprises
Salaries £8.600.
Temporary Hall hire and transportto end July2026- 21.100,
Club activities - £350.
New hall insurance and utilities Aug to Dec- £1.500.
Contingency for hall re-opening- £4,400
The Trust also has designated reserves comprising".
1. £514,000 tofund the lease purchase of the newyouth hall
(see above)
2. £75,407 to help fund reopening ofthe h811 with re-equipping
and furnishings.
