Constitution
North Northants First Responders is a registered charity constituted as a Charitable Incorp￿ated
Organisation ICIOI governed by its constitulion.
Governance
The charity 1$ governed by a board of trustees who are responsible for the overall strategi¢ diredion
and over5ighl of the charitls activities. Trustees are appointed in accordance wth Ihe procedures set
out in the constttution. The tnjslees meet regularly to review operational p8rfomiance. financial
management. risk, and compliance with stslutory obligations. Sub-￿mmittees may be formed to
oversee speCff￿ areas such as finance, safeguarding, and training.
Managornont
Day-to4ay operations are managed ty a team of volunteers, including trained first responders,
supported by a volunteer coordlnalor. The trustees delegate operational responsibilities but relain
ultimate accounL9bility for all declsions. The charity has adopted policies and procedures to ensure
effectNe internal controls, safeguarding, and compliance with health and safety regulations. All
volunteers undergo appropriate training and DBS checks before deployment.
Risk Managèmgnt
The trustees have assessed the major risks lo which the charity is exposed, particularly those related
to the provision of emergency medical response services. A risk register is maintained and reviewed
annually. Mitigation strategies indude regular training, insurance cover, and ad￿rence to protocols set
by the East Midlands AMI￿lanCe Service.
Publlc Bene
The trustees confimi that they have complied with the duty in section 17 of the Charities Act 2011 to
have due regard lo public benefrt guidance publis1￿ by the Charity Commission.

The objects of Ncffth Northanls First Responders are:
The relief of SiGkness and the preservation and proleclion of gwd health by the provision of train
first resFM)nse volunteers lo attend medical emergencies as directed by the East Midlands Ambulance
Service. or its successors. prior lo the arrival of a fast response vehicle or ambulance.
To advance the education of Ihe public in basic lrfe suppc*i in partiojlar. but not exduslvely. by the
provision of training in ils principl8s and practice.
Supporting the provision and maintenance of community-fu￿led defibrillators in North
Northamptonshire.
To Ffovide first aid cover at local community events in North Northamplonshire either free of charge or
in accepting a donation. Covering local events increases the scheme's profile In the community and
offers additional opportunities for lrfe-sawng training_

This year has saen a great level of income for our Gharity. despit6 the ongolng difficulties we continue
to face wth Barclay3 banking. ￿lch have now escalated to the Ombudsman.
Our strong income has allowed us to reinvest meaningfully in our work. We have wrchased training
equipment both for our responders and for the wider community, ensuring we continue to meet c4Jr
vision aTrJ values. We have also uyJraded responder equipment. including new pulse oximeters atThJ
kit bags, to better support the delivery of our servi¢es.

As a not4or-profrt Charity, 11 Is important that we are seen lo be using our funds lo further our aims
rather than holdiro excessive reserves. This year, we have done exactly that while always maintaining
a healthy buffer above our agreed ￿serveS of £3,500. Overall. the organi5alion remains in a strong
financial position. with income and expenditure belng well balanced to support bolh sustainability aNI
growlh.

1. Income.. Th1$ years income has been strong, supportÈng both operalronal costs and charitable
aclivilies. The increase in donations and fundraising has allowed the charity to invest in new equipment
and training, despite ongoing challeFYJes wth our banking provider, Barclay8.
2. Banking Issues: We continue lo experience drfficullies wth Barclays. which have now involved the
Ombudsman. While this has caused some delays in transactions, it has not affected our ability to meet
financial obligations or maintain a h8althy reseNe.
3. Expenditur•.' signif￿9nt expenditure has been directed toward purchasing training equipment for
both responders and the community, in lin8 With our vision and values. Upgrades have also been made
to responder equipment, induding pulse oximeters and new kil bags, ensuring high standards of
service.
4. Accounllng and Compliance.. We have appolnted a new accountsnt, "A" Plus Accountants Limited,
who will manage the charit￿S accounts going forward. While this does introduce a cost. the ditriculties
we have experienced highlight the necessity of prOfeSs￿nal accounting supwt to ensure we remain
legally compliant and financially secure.
5. Reserves Policy.. As a not-for-profit organisation, we are committed lo spendlng funds lo further oui
objectives rather than accumulating excessive reserves. This year, we have rernained well above our
agreed reserve of £3,500. maintainino financial stabllity while activety using funds to benefrt the
community.
fj. Future Commitments: Planned future expenditure includes c(Inlinued investment in responder
training, community workshops. and essential equipment upgrades. Any restricted funds receNed wlll
continue to be used solely for their intended purpose.

Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared on the hi5toriGal cost basis, as modrfied by the
revaluation of certain financial assets and liabilitss and investment properlies measured at fair
value through income or 8xpenditure.

Golng concern
Al th& time of approving Ihe financial statements. tha trustees have a reasonable expectation that
the charty has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable
future. Thus the trusteès continue lo adopt the going concem basis of aocounling in preparing thè
financial statements.

The charity has taken advantage of the provlsions in the SORP for charities apF4wng FRS 102
Update Bulletin 1 not to piepare a Ststement of Cash Flows.
The financial statements are prepared in sleding. which is the functional currency of the charty.
Monelary amounts in these financial statements are rounde(I to Ihe nearest £.

accounting policies adopted are sel out below.
Judgèmonts and key sourcos of ostimatlon uncortalnty
In the application of the charitys accounting policies, the trustees are required lo make
judgements, eslimales and assumptions about the carying amount of assets 2nd liabilili8S that
are nol readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and assooaled assumptions are
based on historical experience and other factors that are considered lo be relevant. Actual results
may differ from these estimates.
The ests'mates and undertying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to
accounting estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the
revisDn affects only that period, or in the period of the revision and fvlure periods where Ihe
revision affects both cu￿ent and fvture periods.

Debtors and creditors with no stated interest rate and recewable or payable within one year
recorded at transaction price. Any losses arising from impaimient are recognised in the statement
