Regular activities". In our second year as a registered charity we took in 146 hedgehogs, 78 returned to the wild, mostly to the person who found them. Sadly 68 had to be put to sleep or died on they way to the vel. Plus we took in 126 calls about hedgehogs lor other wildlife) during this period not always from our area. but members of the general public desperate for help. We held our Annual Fund Raiser on the 15-09-2024 in Foston Village Hall, which was very well attended and raised after expenses £2,147.44 Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects {include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit) One of our volunteers ran 5 different quizzes. on our behalf raising £1,788.00 this included the £1.00 entry fee per quiz and thanks to the generosity of those doing the quiz, donations as well. We renewed our membership to the British Wildlife Rehabilitation Council as an Associate Organisational Member. We ran several face to fa training courses to train new carers to help with our work. We also ran several training courses for our established carers to, where they wished, to advance their training. We completed our Information Booklet, which is sent by email or post to nearly everyone who finds a hedgehog andlor telephones wilh a question on hedgehogs. We also sent out 3 newsletters giving information on what we have been doing, and some slories of the hedgehogs we have received. These newsletters are received well. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year We increased our Friends of Hedgehog Welfare, (people who donate regularly each monthl lo 32 Friends raising a total of £4,314.76 during the course of the year plus Gift Aid. Section E Financial review Reserves {generated by donations, small grants and from the Friends of Hedgehog Welfare) are used to pay costs directly related to the functions of the charity including trustee's training, hedgehog food, veterinary bills, and caring equipment.
