Calvary Chapel Maidstone is a Christian church affiliated to Calvary Chapel Association and the Calvary Chapel UK group of churches. It was founded in July 2018, and became a registered charity in May 2021. 

## Structure & Governance 

## **Eldership** 

The church operates under a plurality of elders. During most of 2025, three elders were in position, although there is provision for additional elders should the church grow to a sufficient size to necessitate increased leadership. 

**Elder / Pastor:** Matthew Hobbs (left the church on 16[th] January 2025) **Elder:** Ian Fox **Elder:** Jonathan Bourne **Elder:** Dennis Scott 

## **Officers** 

Three additional officers served, on a voluntary basis, during 2025: 

**Treasurer:** Danielle Odojukan and Daniel Morlan **Safeguarding Officer:** Nicola Bell 



## **Trustees** 

Four trustees have been appointed to oversee the charity during 2025. Three form the senior leadership of the church, for which the charity represents, the fourth trustee is independent of the church. 

**Trustee 1:** Ian Fox 

**Trustee 2:** Dennis Scott **Trustee 3:** Jonathan Bourne **Trustee 4:** Daniel Arnold 

Dennis Scott and Jonathan Bourne were appointed as trustees to replace Matthew Hobbs after his departure from the church and resignation from this role on 16[th] January 2025. 

Further recruitment of trustees would be initiated by the existing trustees in the event of: 

- An existing trustee stepping down 

- The death of an existing trustee 

## **Governance** 

The church is governed by its constitution which places the day-to-day running of the charity in the hands of the elders, Ian Fox, Dennis Scott and Jonathan Bourne. Matthew Hobbs resigned his position as Pastor/Elder/Trustee on 16[th] January 2025 and left the church immediately. 

## Activities & Objectives 

The activities undertaken during the year include: 

- Family Church Services 

- Study and Prayer groups 

- Children’s Church (Sunday school) 

- Crèche 

- Outreach (Evangelism – outside of the church building) 



Achievements & Performance 

The achievements and performance during the year include: 

- Change in congregation – some families have left, new families have joined 

- The continued teaching of the Bible 

- The public declaration of the gospel 

- The main meetings of the church take place at Hermitage Park Community Centre (address above) 

   - available to all members of the public 

- The continued attention to safeguarding measures as outlined in our policy 

- Carol service and two ‘fun afternoons’ for the local community 

## Financial Review 

The giving received by the church during 2025 was £33,245.44 including Gift Aid for the years 2023 and 2024 of £8,025.71, and the expenditure was £18,508.14. The closing bank balance on 31 December 2025 was £57,276.63.
