urball and rural regeneration in area5 of social and econotnic d8prtvation.
Areas supported focused specffically on the following.
Relief of financial hardship
Reli8f of unèmploymènt
The advancement of education. tralning, or r8training. particularfy among
unemployed people in Montserrat, and providing unemployed people with work
8xp8rience.
The provision of financial assistance, technical assistance or business advice or
consultancy to provide training and employment opportunities in MontSe￿al and in
cases of financial or other charitable need through help:
in setting up their own busines5 in Monlserral, or
to existing businesses in Montserrat.
Key a¢hlevements
To dale the work has developed conlacts with Ihe local Montserrat Government
Departments lo discuss the project currently occurring al the Davy Hill Community
Cenlre. It focuses on business devek)pment. aquaponic5, and career development.
The Monlserrat Patron Society IMPS} has been recognised by the Department for
Agriculture as a potential valuable assel to executing the project.
There are 6 NGOS signed up a5 participants lo the Aquaponics Project
There have been two radio interviews in Montserral by Margaret Allen lo promote the
Charily and to secure engagement with the areas of focus las outlined above).
There are discussions ongoing behveen Montserrat Secondary School IMSSI and
MPS in relation to th8 delivery of a Communication and Inlerpersonal Skllls
workshops.
A proposal outlining the prolecls IfTal MPS Is equlpped lo dellver. In line wrth
Monlserrat Govemment priorities. has been Submitted for further consideration by
the relevant Government departrnenls.
The purpose and vlslon of the organisation
Our mission is to provide a market for Services and products as set out in the Objects below..

economic deprivation (and in Montserrat) by all or any of the following means=
a) the relief of financial hardship.

Statement of Trustees, Responsibillties
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Report of the Trustees and the financi81
statements in accordance with Applicable Laws.
The law applicable lo charitable companies is lo prepare Financial Statemènts for each
financial year which gives a true and fair view of the slate of affairs of the charitable
company, the incoming resource and applicaiion of resources. including the income and
expenditure, for that period. In preparin9 those financial 5tatemeats, the Trustees are
required to-
S8lect suitable accounting policies and then opply them consistently.
Observe the methods and principle in the Charity in accordance with th8 Statements
of Recommended Practices ISORPI.
Make judgement and estimates that are reasonable and prudenl.
Prepare the financial statement on the going concem basis unless il is inappropriate
to presume that the charily will coniinue in business.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records and disclosing with
reasonable accuracy at any lime the financial position of the charitable company. They are
also responsible for safeguarding the asset of the charity and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.

1. Registrdllon of the Charitable Incorpor￿ Organlzatlon
Charitable Incorporated Organi2attons or CIOS are a relatively new18gal structure
available for charities or charitable groups that wished lo be incorporated available
for charities or charitable groups that wish to be incor￿rated.

CIOS hav8 been designed specifically for charitable groups, allowing them to register
jusl once with the Charity Commission as an incorporated form of charity which is not
a company.
This cuts out the need to register and repwi lo Companies House.
CIO members still have key rights in law and under the Constitution and trustees a
still responsible for managing the or9anizalion (note that trustees for CIOS will only
be trustees, they will nol have Ihe dual role of the Company Director.
The accounting policies have been applied consistently through￿1 the year and in
the preceding year.

The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost
convenlion. as modtfied by the inclusion of fixed asset investments al m8rket

Recommended Practice: Accounting and ReFX)rting by Charities issued in
March 2￿5.

trustees in furtherance of
the general objectives of the charity.

¢. Incomlng resources
All incoming resources are included in the sfatemenl of finanGial activities
when the charity is entitled to. and virtually certain to receive, thè income and
the amount can bè quantified with reasonable accuracy. The following polici8S
are applied to particular categories of income:
l. Voluntsry income is received by way of grants, donations and gifts
and is included in full in the Statement of Financial Activities when
receivable. Grants. where entitlement is not conditional on the d&liv8ry
of a specific performance by the charity. are recognised when the
charity becomes unconditionally entitled lo the grant.
ii. Donated services and facilities are included al the value lo the charity
where Ihis can be quantified. The value of services provided by
volunleers has not been included in these accounts.
111. Incoming resources from charitable trading aclivity are accounted for
when eamed.
d. Resources expended
Expenditure is recognized on an accrual basis as a liability is incurred.
Expenditure includes any VAT which cannot be fully recovered. and is
reported as part of Ihe expenditure to which il relates-.
i. Costs of generating funds comprise the costs associated with
attracling voluntary income.
li. Charitable expenditure comprises those costs incurred by the charity
in the delivery of its activities and services for its beneficiaries. 11
includes both costs that can be allocated directly lo such activities and
tnose costs Oi an Indirect nature necessary to support tnem.
iii. Governance costs include those costs associated with meeting the
consulutoonal and stalulory reqvlremenls of the charity and include the
accounting fees and tssis linked to the strategic man8g8ment of lh8
charity.
