Ardal Gweinidogaeth Bro Moelbwin Elusen 1194476 Adroddlad Blynyddol 2023 Bro Moelwyn Minlstry Area Charity No: 1194476 Annual Report 2023 CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT 2023 has been a busy year for the church, as we continue to work within our communities as an organisation working to our strengths- representing the 'mainstream', the 'same' face of the Christian faith in the 21st century, in our towns and villages. This involves being part of people's everyday lives. Until recently, being respected, and even liked in the communty, was good for our personal egos, but did little to bring newcomers into the church. 2023 has seen a slow but gradual change, as a number of younger people have dipped their toes into the church. Long may this continue although the Ghallenge is to make the church relevant to these newcomers, so that they stay with us. Perhaps we have to even changeladapt our Christian message? Working with other church denominations is an Integral part of this procv68. Finances are still very challenging, and are spending more than our income. Many of the newcomers to our churches are not wealthy people, so it is much too eady to say that we are turning thing8 around financially. At the moment we have to rely on our reserves and to See those reseprfes as an investment for the future. We are incredibly fortunate and thankful to have 80 many able and hard-working members in our churches. At the risk of sounding dramats'c. I think our churches and the Church in Wales in particular, stands on a precipiGe. It is balancing between the disintegrats'on of all the traditional church structures, as opposed to a time of new growth and relevance. It is in our hands. Approved by: _ Date: . 13" A Revd.
