Section B Structure, governance and management
Description of the charity’s trusts
12 May 2021: CIO registration Type of governing document (eg. trust deed, constitution) CIO How the charity is constituted (eg. trust, association, company) Appointment of trustees Trustee selection methods (a) Apart from the first charity trustees, every trustee must be appointed (eg. appointed by, elected by) for a term of three years by a resolution passed at a properly convened meeting of the charity trustees. (b) In selecting individuals for appointment as charity trustees, the charity trustees must have regard to the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the effective administration of the CIO. Eligibility for trusteeship (a) Every charity trustee must be a natural person. (b) No individual may be appointed as a charity trustee of the CIO: • if he or she is under the age of 16 years; or • if he or she would automatically cease to hold office under the provisions of clause [12(1)(e)] of the charity’s governing documents. (c) No one is entitled to act as a charity trustee whether on appointment or on any reappointment until he or she has expressly acknowledged, in whatever way the charity trustees decide, his or her acceptance of the office of charity trustee. (d) At least one of the trustees of the CIO must be 18 years of age or over. If there is no trustee aged at least 18 years, the remaining trustees may only act to call a meeting of the charity trustees, or appoint a new charity trustee. Termination of trusteeship (1) A charity trustee ceases to hold office if he or she: (a) retires by notifying the CIO in writing (but only if enough charity trustees will remain in office when the notice of resignation takes effect to form a quorum for meetings); (b) is absent without the permission of the charity trustees from all their meetings held within a period of six months and the trustees resolve that his or her office be vacated;

(c) dies; (d) in the written opinion, given to the company, of a registered medical practitioner treating that person, has become physically or mentally incapable of acting as a director and may remain so for more than three months;
(e) is disqualified from acting as a charity trustee by virtue of sections 178180 of the Charities Act 2011 (or any statutory re-enactment or modification of that provision).
(2) Any person retiring as a charity trustee is eligible for reappointment.
Section C Objects and activities
The objects of the charity are:
- The prevention or relief of poverty in Yorkshire by providing items and services to individuals in need and/or charities, or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty. Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its 2. Beyond the Margin is a newly established Charity currently based in Holme Wood, Bradford. The charity was able to deliver some essential community and school-based support services to the children of primary school age living in Holme Wood, Bradford.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)
The charity supports disadvantaged and marginalised people by delivering community-based interventions that enhance skills, improve wellbeing and raise aspirations. Specialising in therapeutic interventions, youth work and creative education.
Furthermore, the charity believes that every individual has the right to reach their full potential and deserves the space to heal and transform their given narrative through forming positive relationships, overcoming adversity and discrimination, working through any traumatic experiences and going beyond the perceived and actual disadvantages they may have experienced along their journey.
The charity hopes that as they grow, they will continue to provide this essential support and enhance the provision made in year 1 to reach more children, young people and families.
Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
During the first year of operation the charity received 1 grant which assisted them to start their charitable activities. The charity was able to:

a) Provide a safe space in the community of Holme Wood for children and young people to access food provision, sporting and creative activities.

b) Provide dramatherapy services in a local primary school to support children who are experiencing or experienced 4 or more adverse childhood experiences.
