Trustees receive monthly newsletters of what's going on. We hold annual meetings to discuss the year of where we are at, any changes or anything new to discuss regarding policies and procedures. Trustees are contacted to discuss new staff to join our team.

The Trust's objectives for 2025/2026 were and are:

- To communicate the aims and objectives of the Charity to a wider audience of potential beneficiaries.

- To broaden the scope of outer areas to enrol children since the change in governments funding for children

- To continue to enrol more younger children (from 3 months) that eventually move throughout School House ( Babies, Toddlers & Pre-School)

- Expand our Holiday Clubs

- To develop and fund more community projects and get parents / careers involved.

The main activities during the year were:

- Expanded our Buildings, SHDC Baby Barn & SHDC Little Paddocks (Opened Oct’25)

- Obtaining all staff their level 3 in paediatric first aid.

- Taking on and enrolling 6 Apprentices.

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW**

The financial activity of the Charity is detailed in the statements included.

The Charity has developed an investment policy and invested part of its funds to generate income. The sponsorship of activities has been funded from income and reserves, in line with the Objectives and Investment Policy.

## **INVESTMENT POLICY**

As set out in the Trust Deeds, there are no restrictions on the charity’s power of investment. The investment strategy is set by the trustees to take account of its Investment from generating many events and supporting it with investing in many new projects with funds made to make School House a better place for all children

## **RESERVES POLICY**

It is the current policy of the trustees to maintain or increase the value of the capital fund over time, recognising that there will inevitably be fluctuations from changing investment yields, and varying annual expenditure on individual strands of support, particularly as new initiatives are evaluated. The trustees have agreed to using reserves if necessary, to support the planned expenditure.

## **PLANS FOR FUTURE PERIODS**

During 2026 the trustees will seek to:

- Identify at least one new Grant from a local organisation.

- Maintain an active pipeline of new projects.

- Maintain or increase the level of beneficiary funding.

- Recruit one additional trustee.

- Monitor and review the investment policy.

- Develop the website content to raise the profile of the Charity to a wider audience.

- Strengthen and broaden trustee personal contacts through site visits, presentations.

- Look for another building to run a Second School House Day Care

- Really push and fill our new baby area upstairs.

## **STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES’ RESPONSIBILITIES**

Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which gives a true and fair view of the charity’s financial activities during the year and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to:

- Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently;

- Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent;

- State whether applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended practice have been followed subject to any departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and

- Prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business.

The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 1993. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
