The Trustees present their report and the accounts for the year ended 5 April 2024.
Constitution
The Brodrick Trust was registered as a charity on 11[th] May 2021, number 1194412.
Our Objectives and Activities
In planning the activities of the organisation, the Trustees have due regard to their duty to meet and aims of the organisation are carried out through its activities for the public benefit and details its achievements and activities in this report.
The object of the Charity is:
- To promote, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music for the public benefit including, but not exclusively, by:
oSupporting the preservation, restoration and maintenance of Leeds Town Hall and the Leeds Town Hall organ.
The aims of the Charity are:

To engage in fundraising by means of applications to other trusts and foundations; To engage in fundraising from individuals;

To support associated cultural and educational projects in Leeds Town Hall, such as joint projects with the Leeds Organ School, the Royal College of Organists and Education Leeds, that are designed to engage and enrich the lives of those living in Leeds as well as visitors to the City; and
-
To support and enable future generations to continue to access and enjoy high quality
Achievements and performance
1. Achievements
In the third year of its existence The Brodrick Trust charity has continued to raise funds for the restoration of the organ situated in Leeds Town Hall.
The Trust has continued to find that all aspects of fundraising remain very challenging, with the cost-of-living crisis severely affecting private donations, funding priorities and business support. Despite all of these factors the Trust continues to think of new and innovative ways to tap into undiscovered funding.
The organ pipe adoption scheme, which now features the redecorated façade pipes and renewed stops, continues to generate income through regular payment by individuals to the Brodrick Trust.
The Trust has continued throughout the year to apply to a wide variety of trusts and foundations and were successful in an application to the Vinehill Trust receiving a £50,000 donation in April 2024.

2. Performance
Fundraising and Income Generation
2023/24 saw the Brodrick Trust raise £62,470 including a £50,000 donation from the Vinehill Trust. This is a significant increase on monies raised in 2022/23.
The Trust also received £10,700 from seven individual donors who adopted façade pipes or organ stops.
The remaining donations were from the Town hall audience.
Structure, Governance and Management
requires a minimum of 3 Trustees and there are currently 6 Trustees who meet on a regular basis to review financial performance and plan future activity.

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of The Brodrick Trust
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of The Brodrick Trust for the year ended 5 April 2024.
This report is made solely to the Charity's Trustees, as a body, in accordance with Section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. My independent examination work has been undertaken so that I might state to the Charity's Trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an Independent Examiner's Report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Charity and the Charity's Trustees as a body, for my independent examination work, for this report, or for the opinions I have formed.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

Accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

The accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Basis of Accounting These accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention, on a receipts and payments basis, in accordance with Section 133 of the Charities Act 2011 and following the guidance for accounting for smaller charities issued by the Charity Commission.
