Structure Governance and Management
The organisation was originally part of Skipton and Craven Action for Disability. In both formats, we have operated a canal boat for nearly 40 years. The new charity was formed to concentrate on the running of the canal boat. It is managed by a core committee and the volunteers who crew the boat. There is a Chairman and Treasurer. It became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation or CIO in May 2021.
Charitable Aims and Objectives
Our canal boat was deliberately designed to take people out on the water whatever their capabilities. It is able to safely transport people who are in wheelchair. We aim to provide inclusive trips for groups of people anyone but the main customers are care homes.
Review of Activities
In 2021 due to the effects of Covid we were not ready to begin operations. Transfer of operations to the new charity did not occur till the beginning of 2022.
Policy on Reserves
Being a new charity there are no reserves at this stage. The policy will be reviewed next year once a full year of operation has taken place.
Committee Members Payments, Benefits and Expenses
There are no payments or personal expenses paid to any member of the committee.
