TRUSTEES REPORT 2023
The first 12 months was a steady year for Ruben’s Roar, the main focus to build trust and lasting professional relationships within the community.
We have been fortunate to receive multiple requests for support from organisations such as Alder Hey, Zoe’s place and multiple funeral directors within the city. This year of Fundraising has been exceptional for our small charity, meaning we have been able to focus on supporting those in need. We have supported in excess of 10 child bereaved families within the Merseyside area, with an aim to reach many many more in the coming years. We also launched an initiative to wrap around bereaved families, aiding in the signposting, support and crisis management of our families as and when required. Some of these interventions include the provision of gas and electric, out of area referrals for local MP support to pause evictions etc. Ensuring those in dire financial hardship upon the loss of a child are supported.
We also launched an initiative for bereaved siblings as there is not much currently available other than counselling. We have funded multiple wishes of bereaved siblings such as funded days out/small low cost breaks at a destination of the child’s choice. We gained feedback this has been very successful in encouraging family time between bereaved family members.
We look forward to the growth of our small charity in the coming years and are hopeful we can continue to support child bereaved families.
