|||||||appreciative.||
|||||||The band played some Carols in the Barnstaple||
|||||||High Street (subject to the correct licence|from|
|||||||North Devon District Council) and this was||
|||||||enjoyed<br>by shoppers<br>and members ofthe||
|||||||public for bringing some Christmas<br>cheer into||
|||||||the town.||
|||||||Barnstaple<br>Concert Band was invited to play at||
|||||||the Grosvenor<br>Church Carol Concert which|is|
|||||||always very well attended.<br>It was a lovely||
|||||||festive occasion and the carols and Christmas||
|||||||music was wonderful<br>and loved by all those||
|||||||that were at the concert.||
|||||||In September,<br>in order to enhance the full|and|
|||||||rounded<br>sound ofthe band we purchased|a|
|||||||Bass Clarinet. This has made an incredible||
|||||||difference to the balance ofthe band and|is|
|||||||helping out the bass section which has been||
|||||||lacking<br>in numbers<br>recently. We have been||
|||||||fortunate to have new clarinet members<br>join||

|year, to further enhance our repertoire of|

|In March 2023, after contact with the North|
|Devon Hospice and The Barnstaple<br>Ladies|
|Choir, we held ajoint concert in Newport|
|Church, Barnstaple. The concert was well|
|advertised<br>and the church was full for the|
|evening.<br>A representative<br>from the North|
|Devon Hospice spoke about their work and the|
|total that was donated to them as a result of|
|this concert was an amazing f861.96.|
|More concerts are now being planned<br>with|
|other local choirs and groups and we are|
|looking forward to the future.|
