Achievements and Performance
SORP referenGe
The band began the year as many other
organisations in lockdown. It was not until
September 2021 that the band was able to
ompletely start rehearsa15 again. This was
subject to 3 Covid-19 Risk Assessment based on
a template provided by Brass Bands England
and in conjunction with the Methodist church
where we rehearse.
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity's work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20
Rehears?1 spaces were ventilated, social
distancing was observed, and hand sanitiser
provided
During Covid restrictions, all committee
meetings were held on Zoom to ensure the
continued running of the band.
We also used Zoom for qulzzes and socials to
keep in touch with our rnembers.
The band was able to play some Carols in the
Barnstaple High Street {subject to the corrert
Ilcence from North Devon Distrlct Council) and
this was appreciated by shoppers and members
of the public for bringing some Christmas cheer
into the town.
The band also played at Ruda Holiday Park on
two Saturdays to provide music for thelr Wlnter
Wonderland celebrations and entertained both
people on holiday and locals.
After, the Senior band had been rehearsing for
several weeks, we then re-started the Training
Band and were pleased and encouraged to See
some new members join both bands.
The Training band is for all abilities of playlng
and includes both children and adults. Various
style5 of music are played and enjoyed together
to improve their musical standards and have
the experience of playing in a band.

In our Senior band we had many new young
accomplished player5 join and the Flute section
Increased significantly. The band purchased
two Piccolos and these are bein8 used to give
our younger players a challenge on a new
instrument and enhancing our w<>odwlnd
section.
As our first concert {after Covidl we choose to
do a joint concert with l>oth the Training band
and the Senior band taking part This was held
at the local church hall to raise funds for the
North Devon Hospice and was enjoyed by all
the band members and appreciated by the
audience. £100.00 was donated to the Hosplce.
More concerts are now being planned with
other local choirs and groups and we are
looking fonvard to the future.
