during the period covered by this Report.

The charity is a CIO.

is governed by clause 9 in the CIO’s
Constitution. There must be a minimum of 5
and a maximum of 12 Trustees. New
Trustees are, and will be, selected in order
to best meet the needs and objectives of
the charity, as and when a need arises. All
new Trustees begin with a trial period of 6
months before being invited to take on a
more permanent role.
Ulele Andrews was appointed as a new
Trustee in September 2021. John Crossley,
the founder of Tiyeni Fund in 2005, with his
wife Elizabeth, both decided to retire as
Trustees in March 2022, following John’s
90thbirthday. They were thanked for the
enormous contribution they had both made
to the establishment and growth of DBF in
Malawi; and for the many subsistence
farmers and their families who had been,
and would continue to be, taken out of food
poverty as a result.
