## **Santon Bridge Vilage Hall CIO 1194150**

## **Finance report to the Trustees year end 19 April 2023**

The financial year from 20th April 2022 to 19th April 2023 is the first operational year for Santon Bridge Village Hall (CIO 1194150). Although the charity was registered by the Charity Commission on 20th April 2021 an application had to be made to the Charity Commission to provide a scheme to change the objects of Santon Bridge Institute (SBI) to match those of Santon Bridge Village Hall to enable the transfer of assets from SBI. The scheme was not received until the end of the financial reporting period ending 19 April 2022 and was not enacted until the Financial Year 2022 - 2023. A brief Finance Report was produced for the 2021-22 AGM, recording setting up of a CAF Bank Cash account and a CAF Bank Gold account with a combined balance of deposits of £1,984.05 at the year end.

## **Receipts**

Of the total receipts income of £40,511 in the financial year 2022-23, by far the largest proportion was the transfer of £33,733 from the bank accounts of the Santon Bridge Institute. The remaining £6,778 represents operating income from fund raising events £3,159, 100 club £1,501, hires £1,925 and interest on bank accounts £184. There were a few transitional receipts into the SBI totalling £801, these have been reported in the SBI accounts to 21/04/23 and also relate to operational activities of the hall.

The most appropriate year on year comparison for operational purposes is to the receipts of SBI in 2021-22 which (excluding grants of £10,667) were £6,257. Comparing combined SBI and CIO receipts for 2022-23 with those SBI operational receipts 100 club and fees for hire of the hall were broadly similar, receipts from fundraising events increased by £806 and bank interest increased by £182.

## **Payments**

Total payments were £4886 for Santon Bridge Village Hall for the financial year to 19th April 2023. As with the receipts there were some transitional items recorded through the SBI bank accounts, which totalled an additional £252 giving combined annual payments of £5138. In comparison the payments recorded by the SBI for the previous year end to 21/04/22 were £5,720. However payments in 2021-22 included the final expenditure of £1,830 relating to the Garfield Weston Project which masked current year increases in heating and lighting costs of £216 and an increase in repairs and maintenance costs of £447. The maintenance cost increase was mainly due to the 2022-23 accounts including a full year of paying for cleaning. Events costs also increased primarily due to registration for PPL PRS licences.

The format of the accounts is in line with the Charity Commission template "Receipts and payments accounts CC16a". This format includes a statement of assets and liabilities at the end of 2022 - 23.

At the financial year end 19/4/23 Santon Bridge Village Hall (CIO) held £37,609 in cash and bank accounts. The land and buildings cost value of £68,734 was transferred unchanged from the SBI. There were no fixed asset or fixtures purchases in the financial year.
