Beyond Sight Loss
Throughout this financial year Beyond Sight Loss (BSL) has kept all forms of communication open with other organisations dedicated to enhance the lifestyle of the Visually Impaired Person (VIP). Throughout the last decade, BsL striving in excellence has extended their boundaries. They have continued to champion their ethos. BSL has done this by focusing on reducing isolation to its members. BSLs optimism continues to gain such positive energy. Inspired to build upon their growing legacy, promoting quality their infectious enthusiasm grows.
Promote Quality of Life
BSL continues to work to enhance and promote the VIP quality of life. Their activities and events covered a wide range of topics for members to engage, socially, economically and or politically.
Trustees and Members
Throughout the year their scheduled trusty meetings, and members monthly meetings continued. In addition, Zoom meetings for all members, plus women only meetings were held. Discussions covered feasibility, suitability and the practicality of the different potential activities and events members wish to experience. The potential activities and events were relaid to the trustees at the next scheduled meeting. Risk assessments were carried out, upon which final decisions were made.

Members Activities and Events
BSL has accommodated members with a wide range of activities and events, such as: a Trip to the British library, Buckingham Palace. There was a trip to Go Boating, a birthday celebration held at the Lucky Voice, a trip to the Postal museum, the Shard as well as the Welcome museum. What was really popular amongst members were the trips to the following:

Focusing on members independence and their culinary flair for dining in, collaborating with Croydon Vision it was made possible for the design of cooking lessons for members to experience.
Podcast
The eyebelieve’ podcast continued to grow., various topics were broached. Feedback showed most comforting to the visually impaired listener were the shared experiences. The reality of I am not alone was driven home, with an outlook of discovering alternative ways of dealing with similar obstacles faced.
Organisations Invites
Knowing that time or technology waits for no one, BSL promoting self-reliance for the VIP, invited different organisations to share relevant information on enervative products and services that were current and available to the VIP.

Summary

They extended their boundaries, reducing isolation to its members. Their activities and events covered a wide range of topics for members to engage in person or on Zoom.
Collaborating with Croydon Vision, cooking lessons for members to experience were designed. The eyebelieve’ podcast continued to grow, most comforting to the VIP were the shared experiences, discovering alternative ways of dealing with similar obstacles faced. BSL invited different organisations to share relevant information on enervative products and services.
Once again I can only convey how proud I am of our Management, Trustees and Volunteers. The commitment of BSL and the service it provides for the VIP is a tribute to its work over the last decade, well done all.
