REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE PERIOD 1 MAY 2022 TO 31 MARCH 2023

The trustees present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the period 1 May 2022 to 31 March 2023. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019).

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Public benefit

The trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity's aims and objectives and in planning future activities. The trustees refer to public benefit throughout this report.

1. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements

The financial statements of the charity, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP (FRS 102) 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019)', Financial Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland' and the Charities Act 2011. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Income

All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds, it is probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.

Expenditure

Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation committing the charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.

Taxation

The charity is exempt from tax on its charitable activities.

Fund accounting

Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.

Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.

Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial statements.

There were no trustees' remuneration or other benefits for the period ended 31 March 2023 nor for the period ended 30 April 2022.

2023 Annual Returns

We call Sunday meeting to order at 1:

We always open with a prayer.

We gained 15 new members in 2023 and they are all volunteers ; I am grateful for the minister’s dedication and spiritual guidance. We also appreciate and value other church members who serve as elders. The elders met and have made changes to the evolving hybrid service. Jane Moody revised and updated the procedure and steps for the serving elder.

We participated in the visioning process this year 2023 to identify and find ways to implement the mission and calling of our church. We always focus on the word of GOD as it is in the Bible. We reached out to missing members that does not come for zoom fellowship and encouraged our friends to be a true Christian,

Our trustees faithfully schedules members to serve every Sunday and visit our communities to help the needy.

There were no baptisms to report during this period.

Births-

There were no births to report during this period.

Weekly Sunday Attendance Information:

January 2022- 2023: Worship Attendance averaged about 21 per Sunday on Zoom .

January 2022- 2023: In the first quarter of 2022, the number of people attending worship on Zoom (10 average per Sunday) was about equal to the number attending in 2023 (21 average per Sunday).

The number attending in the sanctuary was slowly rising in the first quarter.

Overall worship attendance for January through 2023 averaged for Zoom worship and 21 for worship via zoom.

General stewardship:

I have continued to help with stewardship by coordinating with service providers to care for members.

Establishing Ministry Teams –

1) Spiritual Creation: Coordinates Christian men’s, women’s and family programs.
2) Worship: Visioning and helping to plan worship and involving and engaging individuals during zoom worship.
3) Hospitality: Helping to give hopes.
4) Church in the World: Facilitates environmental stewardship and community service
5) Stewards: Coordinates planning to meet the needs of congregation and community.
6) Finance : Works with the congregation, formulating an online zoom budget for now, and praying for future budget.
7) Memorials Team: Acknowledges and tracks all memorial assistances to the church
8) Personnel Team: Deals with volunteer personnel.

REPORT

Worship:

This trustee helps in planning worship and involving and engaging individuals in worship.

This year, our worship has transitioned. It has transitioned from a completely online service to evangelism-visiting and praying for those that needs help, with the leadership and faithful service of ministers within the ministry. It has transitioned from a brief service , with the input and help from the members. It has transitioned from a service with music offered by a singular voice to congregational singing . These members and once in a while guest participants have made the transformation appear simple and easy.

In 2023, we look forward to welcoming more participants to shape and host worship that it may remain ever faithful to the congregation and our God.

Activities

The advancement of the christian faith for the benefit of the public, in particular, but not exclusively, by means of:(i) broadcasting, producing television and radio programmes featuring biblical preaching, teaching, prayer and music;(ii) publishing and distributing literature featuring articles of biblically based teaching;(iii) producing and distributing discipleship resources.

Sunday School / Children’s Church

We began 2023 with Sunday school on zoom under the leadership of Dr Lawrence Ajayi. We studied the New Testament stories.

In Jan of 2023, we felt the willingness to resume regular Sunday school / Children’s Church. And so, we gathered in the Sunday school room for the first time in many months.

TRUSTEES

Trustees are the people responsible for controlling the work, management and administration of the charity on behalf of its beneficiaries. Generally trustees are treasurer, chair, board member etc.
