The Object of the associalion is to train dogs and handlers to assist the
Police, Mountain Rescue Teams, or any other organisalion involved in the
search and rescue of persons missing or overdue in the British Isles, in
situations which will benefft from the use of air-scenling or trailing Search
Oogs.

To develop and enhance the Iraining of search dogs through a
graded system of assessment against set criteria
To promote the use and effective deployment of trained Search dogs
in England and other parts of the British Isles, a5 required

assessment of search dogs to other organisations

Summary ofthe main
achievements of the charity
during tho year
The charity trained and graded 10 new search dog teams to begin
lifesaving operations with their mountain rescue leams.
The remaining trainees make good progress through the training
Programme.
The graded dog leams maintain their operational ststu$ via logbook tasks
in order to maintain their skills.

MRSDE'S policy is to maintain a reserve of unrestricted funds, excluding
those designated for Specif￿ purposes, equTvalent to three years of
essential running costs. This reseNe provides a safeguard against
prolonged income shortfalls or unexpected major expenses, ensuring that
the charity's core actlvities can continue while alternative funding sources
are explored.

At the start of 2025. thls reserves amount is estimated to be £135,000
Other designated reseNes of £10,000 should be maintained to ensure an
ordedy closure of the assoclation if required.

The charity's income this year totalled £40.633, primarily from donations,
legacies, course contributions, and bank interest. Expenditure of £93,391
was focused on achieving our objective5- Particularly accommodation,
Iravel, 8nd equipment IPPEI c0515 directty supporting our volunteers and
search dog training programme.
We do not operate a formal investment pollcy. but surplus funds are held
in low-risk deposit accounts to preserve value and ensure availability
when needed.
