The Chatteris Museum Trust
Registered Charity No: 1194096
Annual Report for the year April 2022– March 2023
-
Governance: The Trustees met as required by the constitution. There were no governance issues raised during the year
-
Finance: This CIO was set up in April 2021 to replace our previous charity registration number 1057833 which is now closed. Following the Covid Pandemic of the previous year there was limited activity at the Museum as for part of 2021/2022 and all of 2022/2023 volunteers were in the process of cataloguing and packing up all Museum artefacts in preparation for a move from the Church Lane Building to newly renovated building at 2 Park Street Chatteris PE16 6AE. It had been expected that the move would be completed by Easter 2023 but due to delays caused by planning consents the move did not take place until the following Financial year. The finances however remain strong mainly down to a large grant from the National Lottery Fund. The revenues are above expectations due to this Grant and the reserves are healthy. The prime sources of revenue is Grant funding.
-
Facilities: The Museum premises are rented from The Local Town Council.
-
Staffing: The Museum is run and operated by the Trustees and volunteers, there are no paid staff.
