The trustees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 October 2021

The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in note 1 to the financial statements and comply with the charity's governing document, the Charities Act 2011 and 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)" (effective 1 January 2019).

Objectives and activities

The primary objective of the Charity as a Church is to promote the Christian Faith through witness, meeting, teaching and care for the disadvantaged, to strengthen the existing members and also those who may wish to become members.

The Scope of our objectives is the city of Carlisle, the environs, the wider region and missionary activities overseas.

The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in deciding what activities the charity should undertake.

Achievements and performance

Sunday meetings. Weekly Sunday meetings are held for worship, instruction and fellowship with separate groups for children of various ages. Due to the on-going challenge of covid-19, we have had to spend the vast majority of the year meeting virtual, using Microsoft teams as the video conferencing platform. For the several weeks we were at liberty to publicity gather, we meet at the Richard Rose, Central Academy.

Mid-week meetings. Most meetings from November 2020 to the end of October 2021, were held online due to the covid-19 pandemic.

A couple of community groups exist across Carlisle called 'Life Groups' that gather weekly in people's homes and have ongoing communication and relationships between members of each group for spiritual growth, support in life situations, friendship and human flourishing. Much of these relationships are developed and built through sharing meals together, prayer, and studying the Bible. From November 2020 on small groups were run through video conferencing, due to the national lockdown/s.

The on-going programme of the Church has continued to serve different groups within the Church and the wider community:

KidzKlub continues working with the ages 3 to 10 on a weekly basis as part of our weekly Sunday meetings. This ministry is very important because of the age of the children not only being very formative but also meaning these children are least able to participate in, engage with and contribute to the main meeting in comparison to any other demographic. Therefore, they need particular specialised programmes suitable for them.

The church has continued to facilitate people donating food to the Food Bank run in the city by making regular announcements, including notices in our weekly news sheet and providing monthly food dropoffs at our Sunday meetings and arranging food to be taken to the Food Bank on people's behalf. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the church has taken part for the second year running, in an initiative, providing Christmas hampers for families struggling at Christmas, in addition to this, the church are supporting Carlisle Key with toiletry bags for young people moving into accommodation.

Financial review

As yet Revive City Church does not have any income or expenditure – although the Charity was registered on the 12[th] April 2021, all financial activity was carried out by the previous charity (King’s Church Carlisle, registered number 1111960) until the 1[st] November 2021 at which point all assets and liabilities transferred to Revive City Church, and are therefor outside of the scope of this report.

Plans for future periods

Objectives for the next twelve months:

• Over the next several months our expectation is for the process of transitioning from King’s Church Carlisle to Revive City Church will be fully realised and complete.

• Continue and grow existing activities.

• To see new elders appointed to join Timothy Quayle on the eldership team.

• To maintain the board of trustees until other elders are appointed to join the trustee team as part of that role.

• Review and update as required all church policies, procedures and operating documents and implement more robust policies and procedures in areas of operations that don't have sufficient guidelines, where appropriate.

• Build the membership of the church, release more of the membership into ministry and implement volunteer oversight of various aspects of church activities with appropriate management procedures. Support and participate in NewDay, an event organised by Newfrontiers, which did not materialise due to the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic. To develop cohesive community outreach by Revive City Church.

• To consolidate children's and youth activities.

• To refresh the community groups by giving fresh vision, further training, releasing more people as group leaders, developing teams of leaders in each group, to increase the percentage of members regularly involved in community groups, and to encourage people outside of RCC to participate in these groups.

• To continue to deepen the community spirit amongst the church by spending time together in social and activity —based contexts, especially by sharing meals together.

• Increased support to outside ministries, regionally and overseas, in accordance with the charity's objectives.

No major capital requirement are anticipated during the next financial year while financial growth is anticipated to be funded through periodic church gift days and increased number of individuals financially supporting the church on a regular basis.

The responsibility of the Trustees has continued to account to the church and the Charity Commissioners that the Trust is being maintained in an appropriate manner in relation to its Aims, Objectives and Constitution, Responsibility for the decision-making of the Church is taken by Tim Quayle as the Elder and the Trustees, Stephen Beadle, Harold Wilmshurst and Niyi Kehinde, in appropriate consultation with volunteer Leaders, teams and the Members, as well as individuals constituting an external support network to RCC.

The Annual General Meeting took place on 21st November 2021.

The Trustees met three times during the year; on Tuesday 19th January 2021, Tuesday 18th May 2021 and Tuesday 15th June 2021 as well as maintaining regular email and informal face to face communication to ensure good management of the charity.

The Staff Team during this year constituted only Timothy Quayle, Jenna Hedley and support from various volunteers.

Volunteers that will work with the children have been checked with the Enhanced Disclosure service and given appropriate guidance and training to carry out this work. There are three members of the Safeguarding Team, Jenna Hedley, Tim Quayle and Niyi Kehinde who is the Safeguarding Officer.

Revive City Church is part of the New frontiers international family of Churches; a network of churches sharing values and objectives. In the north of England this network operates as Christ Central Churches led by Jeremy Simpkins. As we are supported by experienced leaders in the region to encourage and advise but not to negate, or impinge on, the decision-making responsibilities of the Eldership, as expressed in the Constitution, nor the responsibilities and authority of the Trustees. Revive City Church is also a member of the Evangelical Alliance in the UK.

The current team of Trustees is sufficient for and capable of the task of running the charity, and within the legal requirements set out by the charity commission.

Administrative Details of the Charity

Timothy Quayle has been responsible for the day to day running of the Church as Elder with the support of the rest of the team of Trustees, Leaders and a comprehensive team of volunteers overseeing various areas of the church life.

Risks and Reserves

As the charity is not yet operating financially there are no risks or reserves up until the 31[st] Octover 2021.
