CO-CHAIRS’ REPORT – ACTIVITIES AND PERFORMANCE

The period of 2020/21 continued to be a challenging year for both Pride Organisers and UKPON. A year when many Prides were still not able to take place in person and the uncertainty around issues emerging from the Pandemic continued to impact on organisations.

As a board it was a year where we were able to submit and gain CIO status. We continued to meet but were not able to do so face to face and meetings took place online.

We went back to the drawing board with the membership. A new database, a new list and lots of work to engage prides in membership. Deb, our Membership coordinator created an incredible database and vast knowledge base of our members.

We delivered a regular newsletter to members and we introduced the member online network meetings during Covid..

We believed with the new CIO status and the ‘new look’ website and the feeling of emerging from the 2 years of inactivity we needed something fresh and new, so we rebranded UKPON with a new logo. We also wanted it to reflect Prides in 2021 and give members options to use the multiple versions.

We also were able in October 2021 to hold our first in-person conference since 2019 hosted by Pride in Gloucestershire and an important opportunity to bring members together.

UK Pride did not take place in 2021 and the decision was taken to roll forward to 2022 with the host Northern Pride.

RESERVES POLICY AND RISK MANAGEMENT

The Trustees recognise that control and management of risks is of crucial importance in ensuring the organisation’s future. The Trustees have

deemed it prudent to have unrestricted funds (free reserves) held by the charity and notes this is not for profit but is to be used for the aims and objectives of the CIO in the future.

The charity has ZERO liabilities as at year end. However, these financial statements are prepared on the going concern basis. The trustees have a reasonable expectation that the CIO will continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future.

STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES

The Trustees have prepared the financial statements of UK Pride Organisers Network CIO for the year ending 31 January 2022 which comprises of an income/expenditure balance sheet and notes to the accounts.

As explained more fully in the Trustees' responsibilities statement on page 4, the Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements and for being satisfied that they give a true and fair view.

In our opinion the financial statement:
