ANNUAL REPORT year ended 31 March 2024
**Established:-** Originally created by a deed of trust dated 27 February 1975, and on 31st March 2021 was formed as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.
**Trustees:** Rev Alexandra Lilley Paul Marchant Gill Morgan Kenneth Morgan Richard Snelling John Warland **Address:-** The Dell, Hurst Lane, Egham, Surrey, TW20 8QJ **Objectives:-** The objectives of the trust are the advancement of the Christian faith by providing funds and facilities to enable, primarily young people, to explore the lifestyle laid out by Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount and to find the fulfilling adventure of a life of service to others fuelled by faith, hope and love throughout the world.

## **Review of the year:**
During the year, the Trust received unrestricted donation income of £18,600, with gift aid of £5,025, and spent £29,037 fulfilling the objects of the Charity.
At the year-end, the Trust had unrestricted cash reserves of £1,928, all of which were held in the Bank.
The Trustees believe they have adequate reserves. There are commitments and these are covered by the regular income. No expenses were paid to any Trustees and there were no employees.
During the year, the Trust has continued to support various Christian projects by church and para-church organisations as well as the work of individual and overseas missionaries. The Trustees believe they were providing a public benefit as those whom it supports are working with and helping those from all walks of life.
The Trustees supported Friends of Smyrna Home where Kenneth Morgan was a Trustee of this organisation.
The Trustees have considered the risks of the charity and believe these have been managed effectively.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF NILGIRIS**
I report on the accounts of the Trust for the year ended 31st March 2024, which are set out on pages 4 to 6.
## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiners**
As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirement of Section 144 of the Charities Act 201 (the Act) does not apply. It is my responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under Section 145 (5) (b), whether particular matters have come to my attention.
## **Basis of independent examiner’s report**
My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
## **Independent Examiner’s statement**
Based on my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
- (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: i to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 130 of the Act: and
ii to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act
have not been met; or
(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
