## **Statement of trustees’ responsibilities** 

The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees’ Annual Report for the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting standard (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting practice). 

Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of charity and of the incoming resources and application of resources of the charity for that year. In preparing these financial statement the trustees are required to: 

- select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; 

- observe the methods and principles in the Charities SORP; 

- make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; 

- state whether applicable UK Accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; and 

- prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. 

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 1993 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other 



## **Objectives and activities** 

The objects for which the charity is established are: 

For the public benefit, the relief of those in need anywhere in the world by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, or social or economic disadvantage but not exclusively by 

- (i) coordinating and developing services such as the provision of bedding, clothing, food, finance, 

- (ii) supporting organisations in India and other countries who provide educational opportunities to children from lower income backgrounds, 

- (iii) making grants to individual or organisations working to relieve poverty and 

- (iv) such other services to relieve those in need as the trustees may determine. the objects will be carried out as an outward expression of the Sikh faith. 

## **Activities** 

- Providing education to children from lower income backgrounds. 

- Funding education opportunities for younger brothers and sisters. 

- Serving as leaders of positive change in their communities. 

- Promote education, social change, inter-faith understanding, and the propagation of Sikh values and philosophy. 

- Work with organisations to propagate Sikh Values such as; 

   1. Naam Simran – remembering God, all the time 

   2. Kirat Karo – earn an honest living 

   3. Wand Chakko – selflessly serving others, sharing income and resources 

- Providing support around the world to victims of natural and man-made disasters such as floods, earthquakes, famine and war. 

- Helping UK residents with natural or man-made disasters. 

- Providing outreach services for the homeless. 

## **Financial review** 

The Statement of Financial Activities for the year ended on 31 March 2022, shows there was no donation income from the third party in the first year. All of the donation of £10,000 was made by the Trustee Kulpreet Singh and spent £3,500 to Central Gudwara, which is one of the objectives of this charity.
