The Church 15 governed by the Deed of Un￿nI1932} and Methodist Church Act119761.
The trustees are members of the Church Council. Members, representatives and Church Steward5 are
elected at the General Church Meetln¥. Tlie CIIuiLlI CuuiiLiI rii¥¥l> lidl(-y¥drly, Iv i¥vi¥w illy riiissioi) of the
church and to discharBè Its dutiès as trust••$. Th• Church Council mainta¢ns the hi8h•st possible standards
in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. It continues to monitor safeguarding risks. as well as other
risks relatin8 to finance and operation5 and ¢0 mana8e them in as effective a way as possible. In this regard,
the Church Council a8reed the adoption of Churchsuite to aid in cornpliance with data protection
regulations IGDPRI. The rollout of additional modules in Church Suite has enhanced Ouf operations across
all chSldren's groups and we can now manage registrations, communicate with parents, and advertise
sessiorts effe¢tivelv.
The General Church Meeiing meeis annually and Is an open forum for members of the church to debate
issues and also to elect and have represent•tion on the soverninl body Ichurch Council).
The Minister Ichair of Trustee Body), Church Stewards (Trustees) and the Treasurer (Trustee) form the
Leadership Team and meet monthly. The meetin85 consider strate8y, operational arrangements. and
matters arising from the Worship, Finance, prO￿rtY and Pastofal Gioups. together with proposals to the
Church Council (Trustee 8odyl. The Revd Kate Cambridge acted a5 interim Minister and Chair of the Trustee
Body from 1$1 September 2023 until 31st Au8USt 2024. Through the Stationin8 Process a full time presbyter,
Revd Andrew de Ville, has been appointed and cornmen￿d duties on 1st September 2024.

Mission & Vlslon
Welcome, wonder, worship and wider have been the cornerstones of our developing work. We continue to
develop worship to be engagirhg and accessible to the community together with the opport¢Jnity for
organisations to use our facilities. We continue to be mindful about the environment and we continue to
build upon our Eco credentials for the benefit of the community. During 2023 we further developed the
vlsion, employing a lay Families Pastor to assist U5 in our mission of increasing our contact and interaction
wlth families attending our various groups and activities.
Oblectlves & Artlvltles
Following the fundraising in 2022123 the decision wa5 taken to employ a part time lay Families Pastor with
the appointment of Maggie Blaire commencing on ISI September 2023. A Designated Fund, 'Growing for
Mission, was developed to receive dofiatlons and this, alon8 With an annual grant Ifor 5 years) of £5,000
received from the Southampton District, enable us to cover the additional costs of this role. The FamSlles
Pastor is employed vla the Orcuit to avoid additional administration and the Church pays additlonal
Assessment to cover all employment costs assoclated with the role.
This appointment has already had a posStive impact on the work of the Church wtth new activities and
Initiatives providing more opportunities to welcome families. More information about these activities can

The Beacon Café continues to be very successful. The Wednesdal Beacon Café follows an activlty for pie.
school children (Tune Tots and Story Totsl and has been a great success. Throughout the summer we also
provided crafts and other activities on Wednesdays and FrIda￿ to run in conjunrtion wlth the Beacon Café.
These pro8rams wefe well-received by families* providing a consistent space for connection and support.
Sunday mornin85- Children of Go(1 ICOGS) We now offer tailored input for upper and lower COGS 8roups,
allowln8 children to explore storSes and faith at 38e-appropriate levels while fostering friendshlps and
communlty. Our Sunday mornings consistently welcome a 8ood number of families.
The premlses are well used by other charhies Icounselllng Together. Romsey Youn8 Carers, Oasls Chrlstlan
Trust) as well a5 Other or8anSsations in the community. Variou5 soclal events have been held to support
fund raising for our designated charities. In December 2023 we held our first Christmas Tree Festival slnce
COVID which was an opportunity for charities and local or8anisations to raise funds, a5 well as supportin8
our desi8nated charities.
Charities supported.. The Church make5 annual donations to Methodist Connexional Funds in support of
the wider Methodist Church as well a$ 3 charities through various events, like the Beacon Café. Thls year,
Church Council agreed to continue the support to the international charity 'AII We Can,, the national
charity'centre Poiny and the local charity. 'Minstead Trusv.
In addition, we made grants of £582 each to Cupernham Infants School and Cupernham Junior School to
help provide for the needs of vulnerable families within their catchment area.
Public Benefit: The church mission is achieved through a wide variety of worship seThice5, fellowship
meetings. group activities, learning opportunities, and the presence of the church and its members in the

Finance & Reserves:
For the financial year to 31" August 2024 the Church Funds Brew by £10,254 with an Increase In the General Fund of
£9,285 and £970 Increase in Designated Funds.
General Fund
Income up £12k primarily due to an increase in Offerings lincl. Gift Aid) of £6k and sundry donations of
E4.5k. The Beacon Cofé 58W 8rowth of El.3k with the inclusion of children's èctivities on Wedne$day$
adding a boost. In addition, the return of our previous donatTron to the Pension ReseNe fund plus sale of
tickets for the Alun Newman event added a further £lk
Expenditure increased a5 expected by £7.5k primari￿ because of the Increase In Clrcult Assessment and
also the Sncrease in Utility prices.
Income of £31k- key Items beln8 Growth fund IE9kl being donations received for the Famille5 Pastor role
alonB Wlth £Sk District grantl, and Property Fund1£19.5k2 being donations received for the new wlndows
along with District grant of £4.8k.
