The club is part of Lions Clubs International which has in excess of 1.4 You may choose to include million members across over 200 countries. Within the structure of our additional information, where CIO we have a branch club known as Swaffham Lioness Lions Branch relevant, about: Club. It has its own officers one of whom is a member of the parent Lions Club and acts as liaison between the branch and the main club.

Section C Objectives and activities
The objects of the club are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England & Wales, including in particular:
Summary of the objects of the 1) The advancement of citizenship charity set out in its 2) Promoting the voluntary sector for the public benefit by associating governing document with local authorities in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation to improve the conditions of life of people in local, national and international communities.

1) Citizenship: We have sponsored local student who will be attending World Scout Jamboree during 2023. We also helped to get a new playgroup off the ground at a local church by donating towards the purchase of equipment and also helped a local family raising monies for a life changing operation for their son the cost of which could not be funded by the NHS. On behalf of the Wayland Show Committee, we manned the pay booths for its annual show, also promoting “Guardian Angel” wrist bands to parents attending with young children. 2) We have continued to enjoy good relationship with local authorities, other agencies including the Iceni Partnership and other charitable organisations. We worked with Meadow House with their fundraising and were able to donate £500 to them and in particular their wonderful work with MS patients. 3) Promoting Volunteering: The club has promoted volunteering at fundraising events and also by holding a promotional/information morning on Swaffham Market Place in March 2023 Summary of the main 4) Relief of Poverty: The club continues to be heavily involved with the activities undertaken for the work of Mid Norfolk Foodbank. We have continued to collect used spectacles from local surgeries and opticians with around 3000 pairs being delivered by us to the Lions Club of Chichester for grading and sorting for eventual use in Third World Countries. We have also supported Macmillan, Guide Dogs, Muscular Dystrophy and Children versus Cancer with donations. 6) Environment – Again our Lioness Ladies Branch Club have been involved with litter collection during the year. 7) Promoting Community Participation in healthy recreation: We organised Pancake day races for the local Primary and Junior Schools in our town

Achievements and performance
a) Over 3000 pairs of spectacles collected from local surgeries , opticians and local Tesco forwarded to Chichester Lions for sorting and transmission to a French company where they are graded and forwarded to Third World Countries. b) Approximately £1000 raised by raffling off Easter Eggs in local pubs and clubs – 22 eggs in all were raffled. Pictured below are part of the team responsible for decorating the baskets.
c) Our Lioness Lions Branch club raised £2109 from fundraising events enabling them to make donations as follow : Macmillan £325, Children In Need £375, Guide dogs £120, Muscular Dystrophy £250, Magic Breakfast £387,(from Sponsored walk – members ready for the off are pictured below), Young Lives versus Cancer £367.Other donations we Poppy Appeal £50, Lions Clubs International Foundation £100 and £250 to a local family to help pay for a life changing Operation for their son that the NHS were not able to fund, this being in addition to a donation of £750 from the Lions Club who also raised £541 for Children in Need.

d) On an annual basis , we organise a Xmas Party for Senior Citizens - the 2022 event was attended by over 80 Senior Citizens – the event was held at the Nicholas Hamond Academy in Swaffham who supported us by providing the School hall free of charge and their Catering staff.

e) We held our annual Xmas Collections at our local Tesco and Waitrose raising £1020 for Lions Charities
f) We held a Diabetes Awareness day at our local Tesco combining this with collection for Children In Need
