governed by its Constitution (foundation model), approved on the rh March 2021.
The organlsation was registered with the Charity Commission on 21st March 2021.
Recruitmen
intment of Trustees
The Trustees form the Executive Committee of the charity. The members of the
Executive Committee are eletted at the Annual General Meeting by the members of

the ChaNty. All members are circulated with invitstions ts) nominate Trustees in
advance of the AGM, which must be 14-day notice period.
First five trustees were appointed for these ft)Ilowing terms, and after that all new
trustees need to complete a 3-year term.

Trustee Induction and Trainin
New Trustees undergo induction training. The induction includes a discussion about
the role and responsibilities of Trustees, the activib'es, aims and objettives of the
charity, the structure of the organisation, b)ard of Trustees, general procedures of
the organisation. New Trustees are introduced to volunteers and other Trustees and
are provided with the Charity Q)mmissions 'Roles and Responsibilities of Trustees,,
the Constitution, the business plan, the latest statutory financial s13tsments, Annual
Report, and financial reports provided to the LM)ard of Trustees. Any additional
training required by the new Trustees will be identified during induction and may be
requested at any point by new and existing T￿St￿$, where it is considered useful to
their role as Trustee.

The board of Trustees manages the Charity and aims to consider only strategic
decisions at its meelings. Trustees are aware that any conflitt of interest is declared
and minuted. Any trustee may call a meeting; other they meet up quarterfy.
Risk Mana
ement:
The major risks, to which the charity is exposed, as identified by the Trustees, have
been reviewed and systems have been established to mitigate those risks. All
systems and procedures are reviewed ￿gUlarlY to ensure they meet charty law, and
our own organisations aims and objectives.
Objectives and Activities
Jen's Special Place objects are:
To relieve the needs of bereaved young people, especially but not exclusively
through the provision of recreational and leisure activities, provided in the interest of
social welfare.
We aim to do this:
Through planned activities and social evenings, including trips out.
By bringing bereaved children together
By praviding information and encouraging beneficiaries to share experiences
Giving emotional and practical support to parentslcarers and bereaved family
members

Review of Activities 2024

Be￿een April 2024 and March 2025, Jen's Special Place supported a further 80
children and young people aged bel￿een 4 and 17 years. We delivered three social
events per month, apart from August when we break for the summer, resulting in a
total of 33 social Sessions during the year.
Sessions were delivered across two age Cat￿￿ories. the li+ age group met once
monthly, while two sessions per month were delivered for children aged 10 and under.
Social evenlngs were planned with the differing needs of children in mind and included
a variety of craft and game-based activities.
Our July social saw children enjoy a picnlc and games in the ￿ncOlnshIre Wolds, and
longside regular socials we delivered thr* tiips: a Children's Paty at China Rose,
Aladdin at the Plowright Theatre, and the Christmas Panto at The Baths Hall.
In December, we held our annual Christmas paty, providing gifts and chocolate for
all children and young people, alongside a special visit from Mr and Mrs Claus. Food
and a Child￿n'S entertainer were also provided.
Jen's Special Place continued to offer free counselling and one-to-one therapeutic
support to 13 children and young people, responding to identified needs. Both Parent
Circle fime and child￿n'S Circle Tirne continued to be facilitsted by volunteers and
were well attended.
In Ortoter, we launched a new parent workshop programme, running as six rolling
sessions, each used on a different theme. These sessions provide psychoeducation
to help parents better understand how their child experiences grief and how to support
them, while also recognising their own bereavement. Tools, resources, and guidan
are provided, including strategies to support parental wellbeing.
During the year, we recruited two new vOlunt￿r5, increasing our volunteer team to

Plans for Future periods
The main objectives for 2025126 are:
We plan to secure future funding, including applying for grants such as Children in
Need, to cover our core running costs and enable the continued development of our
team and seNices in response to growing community need. CLJrrently, the charity
relies on individual giving, business donations, and smaller grants.

Financial Review
Reserves Poli
The charity reserves are currently healthy. At this present time the￿ is no finance
reserves policy in place, but have suggested that the charity should aim to keep 3
months running costs at all time
Our Finances
Income for the year is £51,346 (2024 £22,236) (Donations £11,327, Grant £2,000,
Lega￿ Donation £19,641 & fundraising £18,378). Expenditure of £25,232 (2024
£7,707) which has improved our banvcash overall by £26,114.
ststement of disclosure of information to Independent Examiner
We, the Trustees of the charity who held Offi￿ at the date of approval of these
financial statements, each confimi so far as we are aware, that:
there is no relevant information of which the charivs Independent Examiner
is unaware; and
we have taken all the steps that we ought to have taken as Trustees in order
to make ourselves aware of any relevant information and to estsblish that the
charity's independent examiners are aware of that information.

The Trustees are responsible for preparing a Trustees. Annual Report and Financial
statements in accordance with applicable law and Untted Kingdom Accounting
Standards. Jen's Special Place has income below £250,000 and has therefore
elected to prepare the financial statements on a Re￿Ipts and Payments basis in Ilne
with the Charities Att 2011.

Independent Examinerfs Report to the Members of Jen's Special Place
I report on the accounts of Jen's Special Place for the period ending 31 March 2025, which
are set out on pages 10 to 13.
Respethve responsibilities of Trustees and examiner
The charivs Trustees are resF)onsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's
Trustees consider that an audit 15 not required for this year under settion 144 of the
Charities Art 2011 (the Charities Art) and that an independent examination 15 needed.
It is my responsibility to..
examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act;
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners under section 145 (5)(b) of the Charities Att; and
to state whether parbcular matter5 have come to my attention.
Basls of independent examinerfs report
My examination was carried out in accordan￿ with the General Directions given by the
Charity Commissioners. An examination indudes a review of the accounting records kept by
the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented those records. It also includes
consideration of any unusual items or disdosures in the accounts and seeknng explanations
from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The prO￿dureS undertaken do not
provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not
express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examinerfs statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention..
l) which gives me reasonable cau* to believe that in any material respect the
requirements
a. to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 and 131 of the
Charities Art; and
b. to prepare accounts which accord the accounting records and comply
with the accounting requirements of the Charities Act
have not been met. or
2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper
understanding of the accounts to be reached.

A brief description of the Restritted Funds is given below:
Ongo Communities provided ￿StrICted funding to support the outreach projett. Funds to be
spent on social activities and refreshments.
Taxation
Jen's Special Place is a registered charity. All the Chartties, income is applied to its
charitable objettives and the association is therefo￿ exempt under current legislation
from most forms of taxation.
The charity is not VAT registered and all expenditure includes irrecoverable VAT.
