ANNUAL REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31[st] DECEMBER 2023
These accounts run from1[st] October 2022 to 31[st] December 2023 _(15 months)._ The year end was changed to make the bookkeeping more streamlined.
The Trustees present their report with the financial statement, prepared using receipts and payments, for the year ended 31[st] December 2023.
## **Structure, Governance and Management**
The charity was registered on 23[rd] March 2021, and is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (‘CIO’). Four charity trustees manage the affairs of the CIO.
## **Objectives and Activities**
The objects of the CIO are to promote and uphold the principles of the Christian Faith and to relieve poverty, sickness, need or hardship to any person without prejudice in Sierra Leone, or other parts of the world as the trustees may from time to time consider appropriate.
## **Achievements, Performance and Public Benefit**
The CIO continues to work with Pastors and Leaders from the original ten communities though this number is now increasing. Over the reporting period the Leaders and Pastors from the communities in which the CIO is working came together once a month for training days. Transport costs were covered, and a meal was provided. The training was facilitated by Pastor Ken Fullah and the local Maranatha Christian Outreach Ministries (MCOM) team. Training materials used were a combination of Watchmen International and No Place Left materials.
Alastair and Lorraine Patience visited Sierra Leone in April 2023 and Lorraine visited again in November 2023. During the April trip, Alastair and Lorraine were able to visit Liberia for the first time, where they met with the Watchmen International team as well as conducting a one day No Place Left, Training Day.
During this year MCOM has purchased approximately 1 acre of land in Kailahun. The overarching aim of this project is to make MCOM self- sustainable. The plan is to utilise the land to create and launch several micro-enterprises such as chicken and pig farming, soap making, bee-keeping and purified water sales. A Discipleship Training Centre will also be built. The project has been named “The Promised Land Project”. Fundraising for The Promised Land Project is now underway.
The CIO plans to expand the work into a number of new communities during 2024.

Financial Review
The CIO has free reserves of £2,436.72 at the end of the year and has sufficient funds to meet its liabilities.
No funds are in deficit.
