The purposes of the church are,. The advaneemenl of the Christian faith primarily. bul not exclusively,
in the Heskel Newmarket Cumbria area ané surrounding district such other charitable purposes as
shall, in the opinion of the Trustees, pul into practice the Christian faith in accordance with the basis of
faith, including. but not limited to.. the prevention and relief of need hardship and sickness,. the
advancement of education.. and the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation
or other leisure lime ocoJp8tion of indNiduals who have need of such facilities.

Achigvomgnts and pgrformance
During the period under review meetings were held in the Caldbeck Parish Hall unless It was not
available, when meetings were held al the Chapel in Heskel Newmarket. The Hall offers more Space
and facilities for a growing congregation. for activities for juniors and p05t service refreshments. The
Trustees acknowledge the help and support of the Parish Hall Trustees in making the hall available to
us. The church sèrvices a￿ open to all who wish to allend and during this period the church has been
encouraged by a small but continued increase in the congregation. The Trustees seek lo maintain a
ministry which helps people to explain the Bible and il's message of Good News, lo grow their faith, to
come lo seek and to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord 2nd Saviour, and lo be a blessing to the
wider community In which we are situated.
The Community Hub which began as a "Warm Space" in November 2022 has since become a weekly
event, continuing throughout the year, apart from short breaks over the Christmas period and th8
summer. This has been made possible by a team of committed volunteers from among the Church's
membership. The Hub is open from 10.30am to 3.00pm. refreshments are provided all day, with a
soup lunch al midday. Around a dozen folk attend regularfy. enjoying crafts. activities games and
Gompanionship. It is open to all. The Trustees acknowledge the work of Northem Fells Group whose
millibus enables some from the more remote villages lo come to the Hub.
The church also, along with other churches in the area, supports five local schools by contributing to
school assemblies, by the presentation of bible stories through drama and song. This is done under
the auspices of the international charity The Bible Society. whose Open the Book project has over
2.000 teams of volunteers nationwide, with an increasing number of teams now established overseas.
The Trustees also are pleased lo be able to make donations in support of charitsble works of Christian
ministy In leachln9. mercy. medical and economic relief in various parts of the world.
As mentioned in the previous report. the church appointed Andy Wadg as paid elderl minister, on a
part lime basis In October 2023. Supported by his wrfe Lindsey, he has served the church faithfully
th enthusiasrn and comtnilmenl. and brought much blessing in growth and encouragement to
members, the wider wngregation and the Community. It is hoped that we will be able to increase his
contracted hours in the near futu￿.
Publlc benellt
The Trustees have complied under their duty in the Charities Act to have regard lo the public benefit
guidance, published by the Charity Commission in De￿mber 2013, 'when exercising any powers or
duties lo which the guidance is relevant,. The Trustees confim that they have complied with th8
Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 requiring charity truslees to include a stalemenl in
thelr trustees, annual report 28 to whether they have complied with that duly

Flnancial revlew
The Charity receives income mainly from voluntary giving, with regular commilled giving by many
memb8rs, plus other grfts given al services of worship. Where donors are able to make grfts under a
Gift Aid declaration, income lax is recovered from HMRC. All income is retained in the Charity's bank
account until expended. The Trustees regularly review the amount of fvjnds needed lo be retained lo
maintain the Charity's activities for at least six months, as well as considÈring other avenues of
ministry which will ftjrther the ChariWs objectives. The Trustees are grateful to God for an increase in
giving in the year under review, which as mentioned earlier, may make it possible lo increase the
number of hours of the paid elder.

Incorporated Organisalion{CIO) on 22 March 2021 under the charity numb8r 1193885.lt acquiffjd
the assets and liabilities of the previous unincorporated charity of the same name. Thi5 report of
the Trustees of the CIO covers the year lo 5th April 2024.

These financial slalem8nts have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102, The Financ*al
