RASTRICK JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB - Charity Number 1193874

TRUSTEES’ REPORT

The trustees are pleased to present their annual report and financial statements for the financial year ended 31 March 2023.

CHARITY OBJECTS

The Charity [the “Club”] was registered with the Charity Commission as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation on 22 March 2021 and its Objects are:

“The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation for the benefit of children and young people living in, but not restricted to, Rastrick and surrounding areas, by the provision of facilities for playing football.”

ACTIVITIES

The Club provides training facilities and runs junior football teams that participate in the Huddersfield and District Junior Football League, from Under 7 to Under 18 age groups. We have well over 400 young people who regularly take part in football activities, both boys and girls.

Our emphasis is on providing young people with the opportunity to play football in a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages player development, but prioritises participation over winning. Young people are welcome, irrespective of ability.

We welcome players, parents and supporters from all backgrounds, as defined by the protected characteristics within the Equality Act 2010.

We have ambitious plans to develop the facilities available for the young people who participate in football activities, including the development of a club house which we anticipate will be fully complete by the autumn of 2023. The new club house will provide changing rooms, toilets, kitchen and meeting facilities and we gratefully acknowledge the support of the Football Foundation, Rastrick Big Local, Rastrick Grammar School Foundation, Garfield Weston, and the volunteers who have helped make this possible through funding and other support.

In November 2022, we were delighted to host the first ever all-girls football match in the 50year history of the Huddersfield and District Junior Football League when Rastrick’s Under 13s girls’ team played Lindley Lionesses at our Carr Green venue. We hope this will be the first of many all-girls fixtures as we encourage more girls to get involved in playing the game.

STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT

The overall management and governance of the Charity is carried out by a committee of volunteer trustees.

The trustees have responsibility for ensuring the Charity is properly funded through subscriptions and other means.

INCOME AND EXPENDITURE (PROFIT & LOSS)

Income

The total incoming resources for the year ending 31 March 2023 were £80,653.

Expenditure

Total expenditure for the year ending 31 March 2023 was £73,790.

Surplus

There was a surplus of income over expenditure of £6,863.

EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION

We should like to express our appreciation to the many volunteers and local businesses that support the Charity and make possible the activities that we provide in the community; the Club quite simply could not do what it does without them.

As highlighted above, we should also like to express our gratitude to the Football Foundation, Rastrick Big Local, Rastrick Grammar School Foundation and Garfield Weston for providing funding for the development of the new clubhouse.

Independent Examiner's Statement

Year ended: 3P[1] March 2023

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention which leaves me to be believe the financial statements are anything but a true and fair representation of the financial position as at 3 pt March 2023.

The financial data recorded on the Xero accounting software by Sara Goodall is very accurate and reliable.
