Activities

To act as a resource for young people up to the age of 25 living in hackney and the surrounding areas by providing advice and assistance and organising programmes of physical, educational and other activities as a means of advancing in life and education, relieving unemployment and providing recreational and leisure time activity.

Objects: The Objects Of The CIO Are:(1) To Advance In Life And Help Children And Young People Living On The Morningside Estate, Hackney And The Surrounding Area Through:(a) The Provision Of Recreational And Leisure Time Activities Provided In The Interest Of Social Welfare, Designed Toimprove Their Conditions Of Life;(b) Providing Support And Activities Which Develop Their Skills, Capacities And Capabilities To Enable Them To Participate In Society As Mature And Responsible Individuals.(2) To Further Or Benefit The Residents Of The Morningside Estate, Hackney And The Neighbourhood, Without Distinction Of Sex, Sexual Orientation, Race Or Of Political, Religious Or Other Opinions By Associating Together The Said Residents And The Local Authorities, Voluntary And Other Organisations In A Common Effort To Advance Education And To Provide Facilities In The Interests Of Social Welfare For Recreation And Leisure Time Occupation Witthe Objective Of Improving The Conditions Of Life For The Residents.in Furtherance Of These Objects But Not Otherwise, The Trustees Shall Have Power:to Establish Or Secure The Establishment Of A Community Centre And To Maintain Or Manage Or Co-Operate With Any Statutory Authority In The Maintenance And Management Of Such A Centre For Activities Promoted By The Charity In Furtherance Of The Above Objects.
