Trustees' Annual Report and Accounts (TAR) - The Quran Foundaton Charity Number 1193847

Purpose and Impact:

The Quran Foundation UK operates as a registered charity with the overarching aim of disseminating the message of the Quran across diverse linguistic landscapes. Our primary objective revolves around the global dissemination of free copies of the Quran, intending to reach individuals across various regions and demographics. Central to our mission is the significant endeavor of translating the Quran into Urdu poetry, encapsulated within the project titled Mawahibur Rahman Manzoom Tarjuman Quran. This monumental initiative, brought to fruition in three volumes, represents a pioneering effort in rendering the Quran's sacred verses into poetic Urdu. Spearheaded by Maulana Mohammad Habibullah Asri, a revered religious scholar renowned for his profound understanding of both Arabic and Urdu, this translation project remains faithful to the original Arabic text while imbuing the verses with poetic eloquence. By presenting the Quran's message in the form of poetry, we aim to offer Urdu-speaking audiences a deeper, more resonant comprehension of its divine teachings.

Values and Ways of Working:

Our organisational ethos is underpinned by a set of core values that inform our strategic direction, progress assessment, and future aspirations. We have developed comprehensive marketing strategies and embarked on pilot schemes in select regions of India to enhance our outreach efforts. Additionally, we have delineated clear fundraising objectives, identified target demographics, formulated robust marketing strategies, and prioritised community engagement initiatives to foster cohesion and inclusivity.

Operating Model and Risks:

Our operational funding derives from a diverse array of sources, including generous donations and contributions from friends, businesses, and charitable entities. Additionally, revenue generated from the sale of books and proceeds from fundraising events constitute integral components of our financial framework.

In July 2022, we undertook a significant printing initiative, producing 500 sets of the book 'Mawahibur Rahman Manzoom Tarjuman Quran.' These sets were subsequently distributed across select regions of India, reaching various organisations and individuals within the community. Furthermore, a portion of these books was allocated for sale through the online platform of Darusslam London, facilitating broader access to our literary offerings. Additionally, copies of the book remain available for acquisition at The Quran Foundation office in Birmingham.

Moreover, in December 2022, we collaborated with a book vendor in Madinah, expanding the reach of our publications to audiences in KSA. Furthermore, in January 2023, our books were prominently featured at an exhibition held in Chennai, India, further amplifying our outreach efforts and fostering engagement with our literary contributions within the local community.

Governance and Decision-making:

The governance structure of The Quran Foundation is characterised by regular trustee meetings. These meetings serve as forums for deliberating on pertinent issues, evaluating existing policies, and charting the course for future initiatives. All decisions are subject to the oversight and approval of the chair, Muhammed Abdul Hadi, whose stewardship ensures alignment with our organisational objectives and values.
