One of our core projects is to help print and distribute Mawahibur Rahman Manzoom Tarjuman Quran, the first-ever complete translation of the Quran in Urdu poetry. It has been completed and printed in three volumes and is a great contribution to the Quran's meaning in the Urdu language. The translation of the Quran into Urdu poetry will allow even more people with limited understanding or who are unfamiliar with the Quran to comprehend and appreciate the words of Allah. |

Para 1.20 | In March 2022, The Quran Foundation held its first fundraiser in support of Mawahibur Rahman Manzoom Tarjuman Quran, the first complete Urdu translation of the Quran in poetic form. The book was highly regarded by religious scholars, community members, and people from diverse backgrounds. The event was overwhelmingly successful and well received by the audience and in wider communities as well as raising a significant amount of fundraising. Our work is known in wider muslim communities in UK and abroad, a large number of books have been distributed in India and are also available to purchase online by some publishers as well as our own website. |

Purpose and Impact
The Quran Foundation UK is a registered charity in the UK that has been funded to promote the message of the Quran in many languages. We aim to print and distribute copies of the glorious Quran for free on a larger worldwide scale.
One of our core projects is to help print and distribute Mawahibur Rahman Manzoom Tarjuman Quran , the first-ever complete translation of the Quran in Urdu poetry. It has been completed and printed in three volumes and is a great contribution to the Quran's meaning in the Urdu language. The author of this masterpiece, Maulana Mohammad Habibullah Asri, is a well-known religious scholar who has a great understanding of both the Arabic and Urdu languages. He has directly translated the words of the Quran into Urdu poetry - being careful not to divert from the meaning and words of the Arabic text.
With regards to the Urdu language, there are two ways in which we can approach translation. One is straightforward prose, a direct translation of the Arabic words. Another way is via the medium of poetry. The meaning of the glorious Quran achieves an even greater depth of understanding among Urdu speakers who can appreciate and understand the words better if they were spoken to them as poetry verses. The translation of the Quran into Urdu poetry is very much dynamic and popular, but rare. It will allow even more people with limited understanding or who are unfamiliar with the Quran to comprehend and appreciate the words of Allah.
Values and Ways of Working
Our values are equally important in reviewing our progress and in setting future targets. QTF trustees have planned marketing strategies and short listed possible routes to market in UK and overseas. We have started pilot schemes in selected parts of India for distribution of the books and networking with partners. Future fundraising goal, target audience, marketing strategies and community cohesion has been identified.
Operating model and Risks
We fund our work from a number of sources that includes donations and contributions from friends, business and charities; proceedings from sale of the books and fund-raising events.
In August 2021, The remarkable work titled ‘Ma wahibur Rahman Manzoom Tarjuman Quran’ by Maulana Mohammad Habibullah Amiruddin Asri was nominated by The Quran Foundation at Shaikh Hamad International Award Qatar. This was not only an opportunity to be recognized, but also provided an opportunity to engage with a wider international community.
In March 2022, The Quran Foundation held its first fundraiser at Digbeth Hall Birmingham in support of Mawahibur Rahman Manzoom Tarjuman Quran, the first complete Urdu translation of the Quran
in poetic form. The three-volume translation is a major contribution to the interpretation of the Quran in the Urdu language.
A brief overview was presented on the importance of Maulana Habibullah’s unique work by guest speakers. The book was highly regarded by religious scholars, community members, and people from diverse backgrounds. All attendees appreciated the efforts of the author and all participants supported the noble cause of 'The Quran Foundation' and gave generously toward this project. There was a great deal of success and enthusiasm in the event, both from the audience and from broader communities, as well as significant financial contributions raised from the event.
Our work is known in wider muslim communities in UK and abroad, books are also available to purchase online by some publishers as well as our own website.
The trustees acknowledge that there is a significant risk due to lack of funding as we rely on public donations. We have put contingency plan to deal with uncertainties in absence of funding shortfall and are confident to get positive responses from our partners.
Governance and decision-making
Trustees meet frequently via zoom meetings or face to face and to discuss on going issues, review policies and plan ahead. All trustees report to the chair and seek his approval.
